Course Curriculum Overview

5

My decision to choose psychology as my major was influenced by my inclination for psychological thrillers and believably so its one of the courses where practical knowledge supersedes theoretical concepts. My curriculum undoubtedly provides major insights of the same and that of other branches including clinical, social, sports, bio-psycho-social and forensics. The overall course of my curriculum also involves frequent visits to the various relevant field arenas like hospitals, rehabilitation centres to observe and learn others behaviours during the final years. We are also required to analysis and create the research papers to acquire factual interpretation of the chosen topic.

Internships Opportunities

4

the college has a separate placement cell which provides ample internship opportunities for skilled individuals with decent stipend. the college only provides details and opportunities and getting the internship solely depends on the students and their skills. many projects that require student assistance are offered. mostly the internships are favoured towards b.com or computer students leaving only a little for students from humanities background. though many internships with research programs require social science students for work so that helps the remaining students.

Placement Experience

4

The college has a separate placement cell known as J.E.E.T that helps students to gain a internship and job opportunities during the term of their college. Many tech and marketing companies like deloitte, horizon etc. provide internships and jobs to college students without having to look for alternative websites or apps that can sell scams. the seniors from the cell also provide guidance in searching for the best possible opportunities. the cell also conducts seminars on CV or resume making so that students are acquainted with those aspects for job hunting.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a student of BA programme psychology with Hdfe and the fee for my course is 34625 rs per year and fortunately there is no additional or hidden charges. though a seperate examination fee is to paid every semester and the amount depends on the selection of your optional subjects based on if its a theory or practical subject. A certain fee remission is provided for categories like SC/ST/EWS etc. Also the college along with the government provides various scholarships on category and merit basis.

Campus Life

5

Overall the college experience is better than i thought it would be, we have access to various facilities like libraries and conference halls that helps students to engage with knowledgable approach. Also the college campus is very peaceful that helps students to concentrate and stimulate their brain in the right direction. the various societies allows students to excel in the interested fields and build a sense of confidence and teamwork among them for future references. the library has a large collection of books mostly academics but also some books from almost all genres.

Admission

The admission process for this and any other DU college is fairly simple which is to sit for the CUET examination which is an objective based paper and also to make a decent preference list to get into the desired college and course. My decision to choose Indraprastha college for women was because it provided my desired course and my marks aligned with it. I also applied to other DU colleges but am satisfied with my current position as it provides a well-structured academic base and gathers a much more decent crowd than any other DU college. The cut off score is different according to the categories but an average of 550-650/800 score is required for my course.

Faculty

4

The teaching faculty is really supportive and guides us through different academic disruptions that we face in college. Their method of teaching is really appreciable as they not only focus on textbook knowledge but also concerned about providing valuable insights for its practical and real life application. My course which is psychology with hdfe requires a more comprehensive understanding which the teachers hands down provide.

Night Life

3

My college campus is far away from the main north campus thus it is not really a student area but more of main roads and residential area. but that does provide a sense of security as the neighbourhood is well secured and maintained. transportation facilities are available like metro, cabs or rickshaws. the nightlife is not much alive like the main campus area and not many cafes or gyms are their to keep the students entertained. though the metro is really nearby allowing students a convenient travel method. the hostel timings are quite strict and no student is allowed after 8 p.m. to ensure their safety.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
