Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum is extremely scientific. For instance, I am a student of Mechanical Engineering. NIT Durgapur offers us a very relevant course outline to the students. They offer us all the applications of Mechanical Engineering so that we can really become a bunch of good Engineers. Though I think some professors might take assistance of digital teaching methods so that it can be more productive. But overall courses are quite reasonable.

Internships Opportunities

4

College offers students a lot of internship opportunities. Companies like TCS, Tata Steel, Amazon, Flipkart etc offer students of all branches internship with a reasonable stipend. Students can enhance their abilities and have a job experience while these internship projects.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees in NIT Durgapur is given by Rs 1,11,100 in 1st semester and Rs 90,600 in rest of the semesters for every B.Tech or Dual degree courses for general and above 5LPA family income category. For SC/ST/PH/Less than Rs 1LPA family income category, tuition fee(i.e. Rs 62,500 ) is 100% waived per semester. So they pay Rs 48,600 for first semester and Rs 28,100 for rest of each semesters. For candidates having family income in between Rs 1 to 5 LPA, 2/3rd of the tuition fee is waived(i.e. Rs 41,667 ). So they pay Rs 69,433 for first semester and Rs 48,993 for rest of each semester. Moreover this college gives many scholarship opportunities as well. The scholarships are based on performance of the candidate and for the further informations, students need to pay attention to college professors and deans while they speak about the scholarship opportunities.

Campus Life

5

There are ample clubs both technical and extra-curricular where a student can explore himself/herself as per his/her abilities and expertise. Clubs are made to interact with each other as well. Students can learn, explore themselves and entertain others as well. Technical clubs help us improve ourselves so that it helps in placements too.

Admission

In my case, I could not excel in JEE Advanced. So I could not make it to Indian Institute of Technology. But as per my performance in JEE mains, I chose the best I could get. National Institute of Technology, Durgapur is one of the premium Engineering colleges in India with a very decent NIRF ranking. The admission process is also very smooth and completely online. I recommend this institute in every possible angles.

Faculty

5

The faculties of NIT Durgapur are qualified and very efficient. They are easily approachable and very much friendly. In the lectures, they interact with students in order to increase the productivity of the classes. Exams are held in 2 phase per semester- 1) Mid sem and 2) End sem. Exams are conducted very fair and with tight invigilence. Grading is done in the form of Grade Point Average(GPA). After the end of the course, The CGPA is one of the decisive factors in placements.

Night Life

5

Night life is very beautiful in NIT Durgapur campus. People hang out in cafeterias, gym, Students Activity Centre, Duck pond, grounds etc. The campus consists of a number of cafeterias and gym. So the night life becomes adventureous and quite beautiful.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
