Course Curriculum Overview
I think the relevance of the course with present world scenarios is the top reason why I chose this course. Political science is one of the most relevant . I think areas improvement of improving might be in the paper of IIIPT , although it is quite relevant, the subject matter should be developed from a more critical perspective.
Internships Opportunities
There are several intership opportunities provided by the college. Our professors regularly update us with the latest internship opportunities. They also help us form our CVs and application procedures. One of the best interships is the Vice chancellor internship which also pays the students . Apart from the various societies and cells also provide information regarding the latest interships available
Placement Experience
Well in my course , which is not technical and IT related, students mostly land paid interships from 2nd year . One of the most prestigious interships is the one with the vice chancellor. Placements among the commerce and IT students as far as I have heard is pretty good
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee was around 32,000 for first year both the semesters included. Apart from this we also have to pay exam fee. The fee of Daulat Ram is very high compared to other colleges for the same course.
Campus Life
The annual festival of our college is called MANJARI , along with several other fests such as diwali mela , garba night , etc. are held. The various societies, clubs and cells also hold their respective fests centred around the time of manjari. The sports and extracurricular activities offered by the college are varied. There is proper , fully functioning gym , basketball court , badminton court , rugby group, kho kho poles .
Admission
Daulat Ram was 5th on my list , above it was KMC, MIRANDA , LSR & HINDU . I put these colleges about because their political science department is better as suggested and guided by my seniors studying in those respective colleges. The admission process in DRC is similar to the other DU college,i.e, CUET . The cutoff for my course political science always goes the highest. Mg score my 866/1000. Which was a very decent but because of the high competition for political science i couldn't get a higher preference
Faculty
In my department,i.e, the political science department, the student-teacher ratio is quite well. The professors are really sincere and devoted to their jobs. They hold classes very regularly. They also provide us with very good notes , ppts , materials and also PYQs.
Night Life
The hostel in time is 7pm which I think is very less personal. Apart from this the campus is very well lit even at night. There is the famous TOM UNCLE'S MAGGI just around the corner, a very famous paratha stall just beside the college gate which runs till late night.
