Course Curriculum Overview

4

• The structure of the course was from basic to advanced. The structure made sure that all the basics are cleared specially for those who did not have psychology as a subject in class 12. • The course is well-tuned with the practical aspects that makes us better equipped for tackling real world problems. • Inclusion of field trips every semester should be implemented for better insight about the materials in the course. • Midterms are held in between our semester that is of moderate level that consists of 1 or 2 units, usually for 30 marks. The end semester exams are held at the end of the semester for around 90 marks which has higher level of difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

3

• As a first year student, I have yet to participate in internship opportunities. • the placement cell actively works to bring good internships to our college. • the average package lies around ?6 lakh with the highest around ?24 lakhs

Campus Life

3

? College life is calm yet happening. There are lots of clubs and societies. • Freshers was held which had a big party department wise. • Dandiya party was also held during navratri. • Manjari is a cultural fest which is held annually and many artists are called at the campus to perform. • The North east cell, Purvasha organises Khrengbar, a cultural annual fest, and also other amazing fests. • Books are available at the library for most of the courses. However some books are outdated. • The labs are well equipped with all the necessary imstruments. Computers are working. Fans are provided. The rooms are well lit. The wifi is very slow. • Fencing, kho-kho, football, volleyball, badminton and other sports are there. There are indian classical dance and music clubs respectively and western dance and music clubs too. • Annual event of psychology dept. Is held on Mental Health Day where everybody participated actively for a good cause. • There are placement cell, WD cell, north east cell, art club, music club, dance club, and so on

Admission

• I applied to Cotton University, Guwahati and got selected. The course structure was okay and it was near to my hometown if I failed to get into DU. However , I got DRC and was satisfied with their course structure and reputation. Also , I realised it was better for me to go outstation for better exposure • I applied to st. Edmunds and st. Anthony's in Shillong and also got accepted. • the admissions criteria is : 1. 12th standard clearance 2. CUET is the basis of college allocation 3. After CUET EXAM, we need to sign up at DU portal and fill all the necessary details. 4. After that preference list is made. 5. Colleges are allocated based on preference list and CUET marks. • The cutoff for my college was around 860+ for my course. The overall experience was hectic yet memorable.

Faculty

5

• There are 10 faculty members in Psychology department with students around 62 in our batch. • The faculties I liked the most will be: 1. Dr. Meetu Khosla 2. Dr. Kshitija Wason 3. Dr. Sandhyarani Hawbam Their approaches and their commitments made psycholgy even better for me. • The faculties I had a tough time connecting with: 1. Ms. Ruchi Bhati : It was hard for me to grasp the content she was teaching. 2. Dr. Bodhraj k. : the way of teaching was not for me. • There are mid term exams which is held in between our semesters which had only 1 or 2 units that were comparatively easier and end term exams which is held at the last of our semester. Our results are not shown yet so no idea about the ratio of students who failed. The course curriculum is very relevent.

Night Life

3

• the college gates close around 6-7pm. • The hostel curfew is 7pm. • the college starts from 8.30 am and closes at around 6-7pm. • The best places to hangout would be nearby cafés around the campus. Also our canteen is nice and hygienic. And safety wise, inside the campus is very safe and guards are there at all times.

Other Applied Colleges

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
