- It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
- The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
- No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.
Dislikes
- The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
- The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
- Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Placement Experience:
The student can get their offer in the 3rd semester of M. Tech and the placements for M.Tech are good as compared with other NIT's the average package for M. Tech is around 10 lakh and for B. tech the placements are getting good and the average package for B.Tech is around 15 lakh the amount is going to vary according to the year as in present the condition of the market is not good. the companies visited are Qualcomm, tera data, c-dot, john-deere , TCS, Accenture, etc.

- Infrastructure and Eco Friendly Campus is too good.
- Medical facilities like free medicines and treatment
- Hostel facilities are also very good here

- Placement Opportunities are less because of no airport in Rourkela
- Climate and weather here is very unpredictable
- Mess food is not that good, it definitely need some improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I must say the curriculum is relevant to the course here for mtech cse. All the different subjects hold its own importance according to the course. But I didn't like the teaching methods of faculties here. Sometimes it feels like PPT presentation class. There are two exams in one semester. Mid Sem Exam and End Sem Exam and they both are pretty much normal not too difficult.

- Most of the teachers are kind and helpfull
- Staff of the college is really humble even locals.
- College has good infrastructure and you will find greenery everywhere
Dislikes
- Guards are very rude stay away from them .
- Some teachers are very mean they will torture you by the knife or rules and regulations
- Mess food is not never good, have found glass particles, insects in food personal experience.
Placement Experience:
This is where NIT tag helps you no matter from which nit you are, this college will try to give placement to as many as possible students although this year placements were quite low. But even if you don't get college placement, i have seen most of the passed out students are having jobs.

- Beauty of the campus and campus life and facilities.
- Availability of wide range of sports infrastructure.
- Overall curriculum, exposure and placement opportunities.

- The campus is great but the city has not much to offer.
- There is no sports coach or sports faculty for overseeing sports activities and infrastructure. Almost everything is managed by students.
- New academic blocks have been developing for quite some time and the progress is very slow.

Placement Experience:
M.tech students become eligible for internship from 2nd senester itself. From 3rd semester they start getting full time opportunities too. Mtech students can go for 6 months or 11 months long internships if their guide permits.
There are many big names among the companies visiting this campus including Microsoft, google, qualcomm, texas, tata, mahindra, bajaj, john deere, Mediatek, micron, tcs, infosys, accenture and many more.

- Campus is very attractive and beautiful. Faculties are best.
- Infrastructure is very good, campus life is very good.
- Placement is very good,you will get very good seniors also.

- Nothing strong reason to dislike , but we can conclude first year is little bit difficult.
Placement Experience:
Campus placement is very good with 80 percentage placement rate from all branches but my branch has 95 percentage placement rate. Those who didn't take placement they go for higher studies. If we will not get placement we can get opportunities in software sectors also.

- infrastructure - infrastructure is very good here in the college .
- campus greenery - this college provides the lush green ultra beautiful campus.
- antiragging - college has zero ragging culture .no ragging is there.
Dislikes
- faculty - Faculty are very bad , they are slidereaders , they dont teach well.
- exams - exams are too frequent , it comes after every 1.5 month .
- mess food - mess food is like hell, mess food is uneatable .
Placement Experience:
Campus placement is quite good. Many copanies visit our college . Average package of our college was 12 lak per annum this year . Higher package comes from tech or software based companies . Highest package was 58 lakh this year but its not sure. My plan is to go for research after btech.

- I like the campus , hostel life and the clubs here. Also the classes and my faculties are very good.

- One thing i must say that the food here is very poor ( in mess) the
- Regarding girls hostel there is a very less no of hostels are there (only 3) they are suffering a lot due to small rooms and 4 to 5 girls shares a room
- The faculties are not much intracted with the students the way they want.
Placement Experience:
From the 7 th sem we are eligible for placements. The are many companies visits every year including HPCL , BPCL , IOCL , ONGC , VEDANTA , TCS , TATA STEELn RELIANCE POWER LIMITED etc. The highest package in (PSU'S) Core is 19 yo 20 LPA. Also there is 97% students who are placed. I am also planing to get a job in a Psu rather than any other private company.

- Mess food should be improved. It iis losing its consistency.
- Regional politics and corruption by higher authorities should be reduced. It affects drastically the students campus life and career.
- There is a disparity between the odias and non odias. Regional discrimination exists.
Placement Experience:
From 5th semester itself, a student is eligible for internships and pre-placement offers are given generally in 6th/7th semester.
Many companies visited from tech- Google,Microsoft,Amazon,Oracle etc.
from analytics and consulting:deloitte,phone pe,zs associates,O9 solutions,etc
from core:bajaj,vedanta,caterpillar,BPCL,HPCL,GAIL etc.
from banking: icici bank
Highest package offered in campus was around 83 LPA avg package was around 14.5 LPA
90-95% of the eligible students get placements.
My plan is to take an incamous placement.

The placement of our college is excellent. 5 th semester students becomes eligible for campus placement. Google, Amazon , Microsoft ,tata, and . highest package of this college 98 lakh per annum according to latest knowledge . Above 95 Percentage of students getting placement and my plans after my degree I want to start up of our own companies.

placement is very good in my branch . its avg is 23lakhs per annum this year other branch students also get good p[lacement if you have good talent ypou can getbeasyly placement here the aversge package of college is 15 lakhs pr annum which is quiet good my plan after getting degree is i will be a good softwear en gineer and try for a internship programme here

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
