It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

All about NIT ROURKELA

Likes

Large green campus . With no ragging policy and very good senior and junior interaction in club
Lot of opportunity to show your extra talent in sports singing dancing etc
You will not board in the college campus you will always enjoy the campus and there are outside the campus or lot of restaurant and there you can go for chill your with your friend

Dislikes

85% attendance policy and it is very strict
And also the city is not that developed as compared to Bhubaneswar
there is too hot in summer ,btw we don't have classes in May and June as it is holiday

Placement Experience:

Our placement is quite good and have the highest package of 82 lpa which is offered to a cs student and btw the average packages in cs is 24 LP while the college of Average package arround 15 lpa. You can check all the branch wise placement packages of in the college website.. From second year onwards you are eligible for internship From the stating of 4th year you can eligible for sitting in placement . Top companies like Microsoft offered 52 lpa and select 15+ student Amazon also offered 52.89lpa to 8 students Google also select Some students .. for companies like Disney hotstar and wells Fargo oracle also offered package in our college of so that 100% who are eligible to seat in placement waste on their CG character and all the hundred percent students have selected in the placement time. As I will graduate from cs I will take job then do MBA for better post.

library which has a vast range of books in it
coding culture is also very good here and club activities

Dislikes

teachers are not nicest to you .area is big but not utilised by authority
their is some politics in club which i did not like
not properly availability of sports equipment

Placement Experience:

placement is descent here .you can see n a good placement rate in cse,ece,ei and ee branch core placement is not good enough avg of cse has been increased this year from 20lakhs per annum to 24lakhs per annum and overall placement also increased.

Everything you need to know before joining NIT Rourkela

Likes

The campus life, the club cultue are one of the best.
Hostel Faciliteis are quite good and good enough.
Many big comapnies visit the campus during placements.

Dislikes

85% attendance criteria feels frustating sometimes.
Less number of outing locations near the college.

Placement Experience:

Almost 100% of the students who sit for the placements get placed by the end. Some students go for higher studies or appear in civil services examinations and gate-like examinations. Also, companies come for on-campus internships from 3rd year.

All about my College "NIT ROURKELA"

Likes

Campus -- it is really too big in size and green
Food -- The food is best , Non-veg and veg both are good
Class Room-- Big rooms , AC in all class room.

Dislikes

Attendance rate is here 87 % which is a very big problem
In Summer it is too much warm . The Temp is up 40

Placement Experience:

NIT Rourkela has one of the best Placement In all over India. Specially in my branch CSE the avg package offered is 25 LPA to the 19-23 batch The placement is nearby 100 % in the collage. And here is a good research opertunity

A sneak peak into life at NITR

Likes

Campus Life is beautiful. There's lots of space in the campus to cycle and enjoy a scenic view.
Hostel is vast with 1000 rooms. It is a nice place where I spend most of my time
The classroom, the club culture, many things are there to like about

Dislikes

Exams are stressful and consecutive always.
Mess food is sometimes repetitive and disgusting
The politics and zonism over here gets toxic sometimes

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible after 6th semester. I don't have much idea as I'm in 4th semester currently. But recruiters like mathworks, Oracle, BNY mellon, Barclays, texas instruments, qualcot, L&T, jindal steels etc are some names. Highest package last year was of 1 crore from ceramic department. In metallurgy around 70% student get placed. 100% placement was from ceramic and food processing

Greenery in the campus, well planned roadways inside
The connected Academic area. All lecture halls are nearby
Evenings , sunsets, golden Jubilee building

Dislikes

Mess food. On occasions it's absolutely worst
The climate here is extreme and is sometimes intolerable
The distance one have to travel to do few important works

The food quality of our mess as well as campus life is best about the college
The fest culture of our college . As innovision nitrusav cosmo which provide us opportunity to interact with people

Attendance policy which provide almost 85percent attendnance in college

In our college mainly campus placement in 4th year. Those who got good cgpa as well as skill in 3rd year got selected for paid internship as well as got ppo if they perform well . The highest package offers in our college is about 83+lakh and average package is about 13-14 lpa in campus placement this year. Mainly in some branch ee, eie, ceramic there is 100 percent placemnt and also other branch have desent placement record

Beautiful lush green campus with lively people
Digitalosed classroom. CCTV cameras. Smart boards
Good teachers and staff. Nice lab facilities.

Dislikes

Old buildings and hostels that require frequent repair
Bad quality of mess food with insects and uncooked meal.
High cost of course fee as compared to other govt colleges

Students become eligible for campus placement in 7th semester. In addition to this they even get a chance to get internship at the begging of 5th semster. Various companies like Google Microsoft Amazon Towerseach TCS Tatamotors visit the campus

campus i love my campus its just wonderful and green
clubs are very nice i'm part of literary club i need to mange both study and clubs
enviroments in term of ambitious people and ineraction with seniors who get intership etc.

Dislikes

climate in summer here weather is harsh extreme heat snd humudity
to stirct and rules for 1st years. , 85% attendence policy sucks
network connection cellular sucks in ground floor

frrom 6- 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. total job offered 1326 , //for btech 787 // , median CTC 13.89 lakhs , highest package -83 lakhs, 40+ students gets palcement of 50lakhs " from my brach (bio tech) highest was 37 lakhs (non core)" companies visited - TCS, INTEL, WIPRO ,HP, SBI, BAJAJ, CAPGEMINI, DELOITTE ,GM, SAP, HSBC, IBM, JSW, ETC. total 100+ companies visited my plans after getting degree is to get into non core sector like BFSI, ASSET MANAGEMENT or may be i can go for higher study

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
