It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

It is one of the best NIT in India. The placement record, the infrastructure, the environment is very well. Along with studies students can even do research work which I am very interested in. As it is also in my state, I was happy to opt that college as I could travel my hometown whenever needed.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very good. Various companies recruit our college graduates but I'm not much aware of it as I'm a second-year student at present. As per my seniors saying the average package will be around 6lpa and max 25+lpa.

Ranked 2nd best among all NITs was one of the major reasons for me opting NIT Rourkela, I knew a few students from my high school who had taken admission and all of them had good opinions about the college. It's Location in an industrial city with many oppurtunities and the campus envinronment was appealing.

I prefer nit Rourkela because it's located in our state.also i had heard that the professor and the placement is better in Rourkela than other institutions. Also the food quality is better than other institutions.also it has the biggest campus after iit Kharagpur.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
