NIT Silchar Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

NIT Sikkim has a strong placement facility. However, there was little hope for civil or mechanical experts. Except for the civil and environmental departments, all of the branches provide good placement and internship opportunities. There was a placement rate of 90% with package of 9LPA from the starting which was still better form me.

The college placement is as per the industrial standards and norms. The college has a very good record of 100% placement. The college placement cell plays a major role in the placement process as the cell is fully responsible for our packages and as well our performance in the placement rounds as they fully guide and train us for the placements rounds. The highest package for our batch was around 25 LPA and the average package was approx 12 LPA.

From the seventh semester, students with a cpi greater than 6.5 are eligible for the placements. Many prestigious companies visit our campus in both the IT and core sectors. The highest package till now is 16.5 LPA for mechanical in the core sector and the average is above 8 LPA. Almost 80 % of students get placed with profiles of getting, Software engineer, and data analyst. I will be following the job in bajaj auto which I got through PPO.

Based on the information I have, I would assume that the placement percentage was around 70%. Our placement cell organized a streamlined process for our placement procedure. Some of the top recruiters for our department were ITC Ltd, Amul, HDFC mutual fund, OYO, Bandhan Bank, Marico, Axis Bank, Just dial, etc. The highest salary package offered was Rs.8.46 LPA and an average salary of Rs.3.97 LPA was offered in our final placement program.

Placement of college is also great even second best in the north east region, only behind the IIT Guwahati. Companies of all different traits are available here even like Microsoft, Google and many more. Exactly i cannot tell the name of all companies as it is against the rule of our college but it is available on the website of our college.

Students starts getting internships opportunites during the beginning of their third year and they start getting job offers during the inital phase of final year so the placement opportunities are ample. The companies and package are confidential but few of them can be seen in our institute site. The average percentage of students getting placements are 80-85%. I have planned to pursue my job which i have got through college placement

Placement scenario depends on a branch with branches like cs and ece getting upto 100 percent placements. But for core branches placement was a little hard. Companies such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, zs associates, visited. For core tata power, Tata Hitachi, Vedanta etc visited and offered a base of 8 lpa.

Companies visited for the final year students. Name of the companies cannot be disclosed as per the rules but most of the companies that anyone can imagine visits our campus including Google and Microsoft. On average 90% of mechanical students got placed every year. So most of the students got campus placement.

NIT Silchar provides a very good placement for CSE. The college is itself very popular for placement for CSE. The college has a record of 100% placement. The college placement committee is an expert and they are able to attract a good number of companies and market leaders for placement on campus. The committee helps us and guides us throughout the placement drive and they make sure that we are placed as per our interest why I am saying this is because of the placement committee guidance I was able to receive the package of 18 LPA. The highest package for our batch was around 40 LPA and the average package was around 12.50 LPA. Amazon India, Goldman Sachs, Publicis Sapient, Lowe’s India, Fanatics, Amdocs, Innovaccer, Commvault, Microsoft, Google, etc participated in the college placement drive.

If you are from Computer Science or ece you can experience very good placement here, Microsoft offered about 45lakhs per annum, from cse and ece the average package is up to 12lakhs per annum, but coming to core branches it changes a lot. mechanical engineering highest Salary is 21 lakhs per annum and the average salary is up to 7 lakhs per annum. The placements are okayish.
