I liked the campus beauty and the staff over here who are very supportive and the teachera who are ready for yoy every time you go to them and wven the hygine is maintained quite good here
Faculty members in this department are the best atleast i think so, they interact with students in a friendly manner this allows us to freely ask our doubts and gain knowledge.
Tution fee in each year is increased by 10 percent and there are number of scholarships and fee refunds for which a student can apply for after approval of his cirtificates and various other documents.

Dislikes

Hostels - their is not sufficient hostels available for students and hostel mess is very bad. their is no student union available so it is very difficult to make some change in college.
It is not so good as expected because of lack of facilities within the college.but according to social aspects and culture it is good and our nit is lacking infrastructure and this affects campus life too.
It is a very small campus compared to the other nits, the college grounds are very small, and there are no separate buildings for the courses.

NIT an institute of National Inportance

Likes

Support from seniors and clubs and commitees which entirely maintain the image of college
Placements are better than several private colleges.
Good non core placements and value of degree

Dislikes

Outdated Curriculum which seems to be wasting time.
Faculty lacks proper motivation to teach, but still some faculties are great in teachings
Hostel unavailability and Lack of proper resources

Placement Experience:

Placements are good for chemical engineering as we have highest placement percentage in the whole college. The college provides placements in both non core and core disciplines. The eligibility for placement starts from 5th semester. Companies came this year are ZS associates, Phonpe, Paytm, Deloitte, DE Shaw, BPCL, Adani, RIL, HPCL, etc. 98 % students placed this season out 56 eligible students 55 got placed and 1 leave offer to join IIT Madras MTech. I am looking for core placement and GATE after completing degree

The interaction with seniors in the clubs and committees within the college.
State of the art equipments in various labs and workshops across the college
Internship drives and opportunities in the college.

Dislikes

Unavailability of campus hostels for students.
Smaller campus as compared to other NITs and IITs
Relatively outdated curriculum when compared IIITs and private colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

NIT Raipur follows the CBCS scheme, in the first year students are taught about the basic of enigneering that includes the subjects like basic electrical engineering, basic mechanical engineering and engineering drawing. Skill based subjects like Workshop, data structutres is taught and the faculties are highly qualified from the top institutes of the country. The Hod of my department has been named in the list of top 2% scientist across the world by stanford.

Not a pro but have a lot experience

About entry timing of hostel and college .and not allowed for late night canteen and library

Placement Experience:

From 3 year student are eligible for the places..many companies like tata ,dboi , ..highest package offered by Microsoft is around 55 lakh to 5 student ..around 85 % student get placement with decent package

Likes

Campus is green with 2 gardens. There is sports facility.

Dislikes

Small campus size and closing time of library.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In first year, it is solely based on theoretical part and rote learning. But the practicals are better. It gives basic fundamentals of course and basic engineering. Classes are schedules from 9-5 with right amount of distribution of labs and theory classes.

Supportive environment, no ragging, good atmosphere
Good faculties present here to guide us everywhere
Good system of the grading the relative grading

Dislikes

Campus size, lack of campus size, lack of campus hostel, lack of the much sports facilities
Lack of the good infrastructure present here
Lack of the mordern technology teachings

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements from 7th or 8th semester although many a students starts internships from 6th or 7th semester although a few find it frok 3rd or 4th semester too. there are many companies visited like tcs, deloitte, wipro limited, microsoft, googlre , adobe ,etc. the highest salary offered in 2023 was 75 lpa and the average salary was 17n lpa and lowest was 11 lpa . with a good rate of 80-90% student got placxed at nit raipur. my plans is to geta good placement above 20 lpa from the starting ownwards

IS NIT RAIPUR bad for you

Likes

Event happening time to time which make campus very lively
The infrastructure for the lab is good compare to the fee
All the branches are in one building which make more interaction

Dislikes

The infrastructure for the sport is quite bad
1st and 2nd year interaction is quite low

Placement Experience:

From 7th sem you are eligible for the campus placement and many companies comes in the campus.The highest package this year was 55LPA.the average placement in CSE,IT,ECE and EE IS ABOVE 80% placement rate

NIT Raipur: Average college with Excellent placement

Likes

I liked the freedom this college provides the students. Everyone here has the opportunity to try new things, and start thier on startups.
Exam difficulty is very low, one can score good marks without stressing too much.
Good and friendly seniors. They'll never reject you if you ask them for help.

Dislikes

There is only one sports ground, so sports enthusiasts face great troubles.
Very small campus, they don't have enough space to even place all the students in hostel.
College events are not that grand and fun like other NITs and IITs

Placement Experience:

Placements are the best thing about this college. At semester 7 students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like ADOBE (3 offers), Amazon (10 offers), DE Shaw (2 offers), Tata steel (4) , Jio (5), Paytm (5), G.E (4) , DBOI (9) , Fanatics (5) and other big names visit us. Highest package was 55 lakhs (CSE) and overall average package is 13 lakhs per annum. On average 75% students get placed. After the degree, I'll run my own buisness.

Social aspects, Events and curriculum are the things that I like the most.

Dislikes

Size of campus is not large and hostels are not provided to MCA students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is overall good and inclusion of core subjects such as data structures and algorithms, database management system, operating system are crucial for providing strong foundation. Practical components such as programming assignments, labs, internships enhance hands-on learning and real-world application of theoritical subjects.

NIT Raipur Detailed Description based on student review

Likes

Placments- Maximum number of students gets placed with a decent pacakage.
Chill Studies- Professors doesn't pressurize you to submit projects and assignments and attendance is also not that strict
Instrumental setup of labs- All features for excellent improvement are present for practical application.

Dislikes

Campus - The campus is not that good and big but sufficient.
Sports facilities- The sports are not the best but ok.
Hostel facilities- Hostel size is not big and all students can't be accomoded.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are eligible for placments. There were total of 739 offers made from 101 different companies including big giants like Amazon,adobe offering more than 40lpa placments This year highest placment was of 65lpa from Microsoft. 75-80% of students are placed here. Taking a good placment from college.

Likes

I liked the locality of the campus it is located in the mid City so everything is easily accessible
Vehicles are allowed in the campus so no need to worry for the transportation
Railway station attached to the campus itself

Dislikes

Sports complex and grounds are either under construction or not maintained properly
Only from second year we get lecture theatre instead of normal classroom
Faculties in the labs are rude sometimes

Placement Experience:

There is a very good opportunity in the campus placement of the college. There are opportunities from the 3rd year for pre placement offers. Companies like Deloitte, DBOI, Amazon, Infosys etc. Generally companies which are tech based allow students only above 7 CGPA.

As an alumnus of NIT Raipur, here are my views on this institution-

Faculty- The faculty lags behind in terms of NIT standards. It is slightly above average. This is because their teaching method is not very engaging. That being said, the teachers are helpful. They will advise you to engage in extracurriculars as well.

Student Interaction- The senior-junior interaction is good.

Despite IIT Raipur and AIIMS Raipur being in close proximity, interaction and

idea-sharing with them is negligible.

Industry Connect- It has a good industry connection for some core branches like mining, metallurgy, and civil.

Campus Life- The campus life isn’t good. But eventually, you’ll learn to cope with things and enjoy yourself. You’ll learn a lot during your degree from this campus.

Infrastructure- There is a lot of room for improvement in the infrastructure of this college.

Placement- Placement records are decent. Last year an average package of INR 10.1 LPA was recorded by the college. A total of 738 offers were made by 101 companies. Some of the companies that visit the campus for placements include- Infoedge, Siemens, Adobe, Barclays, Capgemini, FIAT, Reliance, TATA, SapientNitro, Oracle, Amazon, Samsung, JP Morgan Chase, Cognizant and Wipro.

Overall, I would say that NIT Raipur is a bit lacking in many respects. However, you’ll get a good chance to rise over here because of low competition.
