Overall the faculty at nit srinagar is good they provide us with good study material and they have average speaking skills we can understand their lectures easily jsnsnjdjdhdhshshhsjsjshhshshshshshshhshshshshhshshshshshshhshshdh
It has a beautiful campus and the best facilities the library has a huge amount of books and has free wifi speed like 100mbps.
In nit srinagar campus placement is very good many companies visit and they offer good packages highest packages in our college is 40-50 lpa that is good and many companis like tata hcl visits out college

Dislikes

Placements are very poor as only 20-30% students get placed with an average package of 6lpa!
Rapid development must has to present here which feels bad about this college.
There are no oncampus internships you have to find one your own and let college know about it.they put restrictions on everything and no proper leave is given for the internship facilities mentor you correctly and guide you

Best college for CSE, IT and ECE . Avg for other branch. Good scene of mountain and lake

I like the natural environment of the college. It is surrounded by mountains and state at the bank of dal lake
Faculty is quite friendly. They are helpful and well qualified.
Hostel is good because i got a 2seater room. Some of my Batchmate get 5 seater according to availability.

Dislikes

Mess food of NIT Srinagar is not good enough.
Usually we have to face protests some time it is about mess food.
Placement not good for core branches. It is good for CSE , IT and ECE.

Placement Experience:

Students in 7nth semester are eligible for placement usually. The companies visited to our college are ORACLE, AIRTEL , NEXTURN, MICROSOFT, WIPRO, TATA, RELIANCE etc. Highest package for ECE is 19.20 lpa offered by ORACLE. Avg is 11 lpa. 70-80 % of the eligible students get placed. I will try to get 30+ lpa.

Diverse culture: People from different states are here that provide a diverse culture for civilans.
Faculty behavior: Faculty behavior and interaction is very friendly and nice . Many expert Faculty are available here.
Beautiful scenery Beautiful scenery in campus itself is seen it is one of the most beautiful nit.

Dislikes

Less availability of pure non veg food. As many non vegetarian people are here in srinagar vegetarian people find a problem in finding pure veg restaurants.
Mess food Mess food is not that good to be appreciated. Moreover i feel the charges are much higher than quality.
Srrict timings to be followed in campus. Girls timings are strictly followed without any failure.

Yes placements is offered from college both private and government companies come for placements. Placements for cse and it is easy if they have skills so they can crack a god placements. And it is a bit difficult placements wise for lower branches. Highest package was 43 lakh and lowest was 8 lakh in cse branch

There are many caretakers inside the hostel who take good care of students
Campus infrastructure is good and well maintained and the buildings look beautiful with the scenic background
Classrooms are modern and the wooden aesthetic looks great. There are also a lot of parks and a lot of trees making the air quality great. I love being connected with nature

Dislikes

Campus area is small thus lesser facilities in the campus but the necessary ones are there
College fests aren't as expected and slightly disappointing due to many restrictions. Funds for fests are not nearly enough thus making them disappointing
Girls to boys ratio is 1:5 which is not very good. Girls should be more in number

Placement Experience:

Im from first semester so i dont really know about placements very well but 3rd year seniors are perfectly eligible for placement opportunities normally its just hard for them to get placements in 3rd year. I have two main plans after getting a degree. 1st is to get a placement at a PSU which will enable me to secure a well paying job and the other is to get a job in the IT sector .

Me and my chaos life in Nit Srinagar

Nearest best college near my home where I can easily visit home again
Obviously, the place it is located in very scenic and beautiful
The college gives good opportunity to everything

Dislikes

Fest obviously is not very good as other colleges
Their is not much exposure as other colleges.
Not much option for sports especially girls there is so much restriction being a girl

Course Curriculum Overview:

Right now in these semester ( 1st) there is no interesting subjects as all the basics are going on. Literally we are studying environmental studies that we used to do in kindergarten. In which we never attend in these classes. I choose this course as I am interested in stuffs of computation or anything regarding this but yes there is no interesting things . Therefore right now the curriculum is not preparing me for any real - world applications. I suggest that there are alot of improvements to be done here there are alot to be done in teaching methods. As this was our first experience in this college but the timing is very less we are going to appear for the end term just after giving the mid term and there is less than 1 month of gap in between

A genuine talk on NIT Sringar

The natural beauty of the campus is unbeatable. As kashmir is called heaven on earth and NIT Srinagar is college of Kashmir so you can enjoy the Beauty of nature all the time.
Faculties here are so much understanding. They engage with students listen there problems and try to sort out . Their way of teaching is very friendly.
In case of security and safety NIT Srinagar is very safe. And the staff here are very friendly.

Dislikes

Mess food is okaish. It can be improved .More hygiene is also needed for mess food
Fest here are not too big. Fest could made more effective by more performances and workshops etc.
College is too small. Their is very less space for organizing any event.

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year students are eligible for placement in our college. Several companies come to this college for in campus placement. Recently there was 21lpa was highest package for CSE department. Average package of this college is 8 lpa.

The environment of the campus and people around

Currently I'm focusing on my course right now and to enhance my knowledge and ability. Later I'll think if I'm not getting any placements I'll explore a little into some other fields. The staff also guides us for scholarships and information related to placements

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visted were Del, Wipro, TCS, ONGC, And other PSUS. Highest package is 2100000 and average was of 800000.Overall placement percentage is 60%to70%.I will prepare for gate exam after degree.

The things that I liked here is the freedom we can get to have conversations with various people and get the exposure to the different kinds of people
The infrastructure is well built and the development is still going on since there always exists
Faculty for now is good in my perspective it's just about the interest that we show while listening to the class people's perspective may change personal and professional development can be seen as the faculty are the top notch

Dislikes

The things that I disliked is the food which I think need some improvement and also the outing timings for girls particularly I know that the security of us is the first priority of the college still
Girls should be inside the campus after 6 in the evening which is not that valid for the boys and the mess timings which I hate the most which is from 7:00-9:00 in the mornings since winter is the prevailing season here we feel soo last to wake early
Placement due to recession is low but few years before this was not the issue here placements was good but now it has became an issue

We can sit for placements from the 3td year itself We can do various internships for the experience purpose The highest package goes upto 4000000 per annum and average package is 1500000 per annum The percentage placement is less for now due to recession

Likes

The location of campus is too much good.
They provide all necessary things to you.
Campus environment is very good and good bonding b/w seniors and juniors

Dislikes

Campus size a bit small and conjusted area.
Faculties are not too much interested to teach.
Students are not too much creative to learn new things.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are allowed to sit in placements. And the package offers are very good like last year in 2024 some metallurgical students get 30 lpa packages. And also a good number of students get job in PSU through GATE exam.

The environment here very nice, you could mountains from campus , dal lake is connected to playground area
Faculties are very friendly with students only , I got only one faculty which is very strict regarding attendance
Badminton courts, tennis courts , basketball courts ,football ground , cricket etc is there ,a small playground/park is available for each hostel hence overall sports facilities are good

Dislikes

Campus is small of only 67 acres as compare to other NITs
Placements are not that , except IT sector every stream is suffering
1st year hostels are old and small, we are 5 students living in a room.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good , only CS , IT and ECE students get good placements of around 15 LPA , students of other streams mostly go for higher education either for GATE or prepare for UPSC preparations.
