IIT Dhanbad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students are eligible for internships after the 4th semester and are eligible for placement from the 7th semester. The institute is visited by a huge number of companies including the top MNC's that includes Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, Meta along with the Indian giants of Tata, ONGC. The season of 2024 placement saw the highest package of 52lpa along with the average package standing at 17lpa. Inspite of the recession in the current session the institute provided placement to almost 75% of the students. After getting the degree I would try for jobs in the PSu sectors including NTPC, BHEL etc.

During the last semester of 4th year Companies visits the college to provide job offers to student Which is around month of December. google, Goldman Sachs, microsoft, uber, amazon, flipkart and many other big tech giant often visits our college. Total offers made till now is around 600 Highest package is around 68 lakh on campus and 1.5 cr off campus. Average package is around 18 lakh. 90% of the students are placed every year from my institute. My plan is to be placed in big tech giant like google.

After 4th sem students are eligible for sitting for intern interview and after 7th sem company started coming for on campus placements . Companies like Google , Microsoft, Zepto , Phonepay , BNY Melon, Barclays , sprinklr , ONGC

Student become eligible for placement from 3rd year 1st semester. Recently Faang companies and other big companies like zepto zomato bny mellon also came to our college.around 600 people got intership and placed.

My university's curriculum offers students to choose their courses other than the core subjects. There are two exams for each course and two quizzes for a total of 100 marks. Mid semester values 32 marks and end semester values 48 marks the rest are quizzes.

Professor will follow lecture plan which will given to the student on very first day of the class. Every chapter consists its number of class hours required.While teaching classes we need to show its experiment procedure at same time. Exam are placed well .

Coming to mechanical engineering, the courses are very tough compared to other branch courses.The faculty should mainly focus on application part.But the exams tests our intelligence as they cannot be simply calculated but we should work on it.

As a student of mechanical branch, our courses are quite difficult compared to some branches but it's okk. Good timings for classes but in practicals it's not that much natural. And opportunities for us are very less.

Here companies start giving internship offers to the third year starting students that is 5th semester students and for Integrated course it is 4th year starting students that is 7th semester students. For placements , companies come in final year of student or can say in 7th semester of students and here also for integrated course it is 9th semester. There are a various companies that come in our campus some of them are Google , Microsoft , Adobe, Nvidia, Texas instruments, Zepto, Goldman Sachs ,Phonepay, Paytm, Meesho , etc and their number of offers varies in between 5-25 or 5-30 sometimes. Lowest package is about 7-8 lakh per annum while highest is 80 lakh per annum. 60-62 Percentage of students got placed in on campus placement and rest are placed in off campus.

Exams are very strict in our college. No cheating during exams will be allowed. Professors make thier own question paper to test our skills. And our faculty allows us to do projects and work with them to gain real world experience.
