Placement Experience:

Placements are very impressive at the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. 5th Semester onwards, Companies visit for internships and from the 6th semester onwards Placement offers start. The highest package from the department of Production and Industrial Engineering Department is 32 LPA and the average package is 11.87 LPA in the year 222-23. Overall placement is 97%.

Inside Nit Jamshedpur: Deep insights of my college

Likes

Good peer group and very supportive seniors. Here good culture is followed and seniors also expect us to pass it on to the next batches.
Infrastructure is quite good and its been continuously developing.
Placements are the best things about this college.

Dislikes

Lack of auditorium, though we have a multipurpose hall but an auditorium is a must.
Lack of gym in the college you need to go outside the campus for it.
Most of the faculties are good but some newer once are a little nosy and try to get involved with everything you do in the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements are the best thing about this college. The highest package this year was offered by Atlassian which was 83 lakhs per annum to 5 students. Almost all the software companies allow all the circuital branches to sit in the placement sessions and some allow core branches as well. There are a large number of companies that come for core placements. The average package of CS was around 26 lakhs, ECE was around 22 lakhs, EE was 18, Mechanical was 10.5 lakh, Civil was 9.5 lakh, Metallurgy was 9 lakh and for Production branch it was 11 lakh. The total percentage of students getting placed was 98.87 % which is quite extraordinary. 250+ companies visit our college.

Campus Life, environment, library, classroom
Class room are well developed and all facilities are available
Library have ac, wifi and books also so don't worry.

Dislikes

Extra workload of class And labs.
Laboratory are not so well as you wanted to be

Placement Experience:

Placement is the biggest factor of this college because good placement offers come to every student almost every single person gets placed well. The average placement is around 1500000 And the highest goes to 72 LPA.

Our Hostel rooms which is very spacious with a balcony
Our placement record of more then 96% which an average package more the 14lakhs

Dislikes

Our sports facilities are not that much good

The main highlight of our college is only our placement which is top notch even our core placement is very good compared to many iits. More than 250 companies visited this year with the highest package of 80lakhs which a placement percentage of 96%

My overall experience is college is good for education and placement also you enjoyed all moments to this college.

Dislikes

Wifi and network problem is very bad condition.

Placement Experience:

Placement of this college is best in my branch (PIE) 98 % placement. In another branch CS is 100 % placement of this college Good curriculum and Teaching Good Placement statistics. Better Chance of training and industrial experience with Tata steel, Tata Cummins near by.

Likes

placement, college environment, senior junior interaction,
coding culture and sport facilities are very good
The area of college is very big and full of greenery

Dislikes

The curriculum of college is tight. We get less time for other things
The campus is big which is a metter of concern
The infrastructure of college is not good

I choose electronics and communication has the placement for electronics and communication was very high here. And there are many PhD holders. Also many new professsors are taken by the institute. 5 month for each semester

The weather of Jamshedpur is very uncertain.
The recently appointed assistant professors are not that good.

Placement Experience:

Students from the starting of 7 th semester get eligible for placements.Companies start visiting from starting of 7 th semester only For the past recruiter one can visit our college linkdin profile.Highest package offered is 82 lpa and average about 15 lpa.98 % students got placed.I want to do masters after taking degree.

The placement statistics is great. Package is enough better than most of the other NITs
Class rooms are good, fully air-conditioned and we'll maintained

Dislikes

Hostel facility of girls is poor. Food is also average.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is great. This year's highest package is 84lpa. Core branches also have a great placement. Mostly all the students get placed. I have decided to go for MBA after BTech. The average package is 18lpa.

Sports and cultural events are also taken care of.
the infrastructure, that is, the newly built academic building.

Dislikes

75 percent attendance criteria is being followed.
some of the labs are not in proper condition.
few of the professors are very backdated.

The placement scenario is good for all branches. Not only non-core branches, but even the core branches also have 100 percent placement records. In the current year, the Mechanical branch had a 10 lakh average package and 8 lakh as the median.

A genuine review of NIT Jsr

Likes

I really liked the new academic building because of the amenities provided in the classrooms are superb.
The clubs and societies are pretty good here u will learn a lot.
Mess food is so good and also from the 2nd year onwards u have single room so chill.

Dislikes

Fests are rarely organised because of lack of funds.
The timing is very hectic as u have labs as well as regular classes.
Midsem and endsem are quite tough according to me but it varies from individual to individual.

Talking about mechanical the placements are good and after the 6th or 7th sem, u r eligible for campus placements. The major recruiter for mechanical is tata steel and tata motors. More information u can see on the LinkedIn profile of the Training and placement cell of NIT Jsr. The highest package overall is 83lpa from CSE and the average overall is around 14 lpa. About 98% of students got placed.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.

Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.

Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.

Academics

The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.

Extracurricular Activities:

The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
