Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

One of the Best colleges of India

Remarks:

One of the top colleges in India regarding the academics and placements our college is the best. But being an old college hostels are not too good.many hostels are just left because of under construction. Our college owns a super computer of its own which is considered as a high privilege in a overall our college is very good.

Acadrmics and Co Curricular: Both the best

Remarks:

Positive points are Large campus, good faculties, good buildings, good placements, good curriculum, great fests. Negative points are not too beautiful campus, not much freedom during first years, assignments and projects will be a burden.

One of the best in india

Remarks:

It's a good college to pursue engineering in India after IITs and some good NITs. And it has a mixture of culture so we can learn many things and this will gift is a large network of friends all over the India. Fifty percentage seat reservation to other state quota is helping for making NIT a multi cultural college.

When learning comes from a place

Remarks:

I can give overall rating of 8.5. Since it is one of oldest college built in 1968 some infra may look old but one enjoy a four year journey here. And u can come with flying colors. Only Negativity is more freedom can mislead a good student.

The best thing about 'NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY CALICUT' is its placements and the exposure Students get through it. It is a good campus to explore oneselves and grow professionally and personally.

Remarks:

You can enjoy every aspect of your life over there. Alll students inspite of boy or girl are given 100 percentage freedom in the campus. Also 24 hours we can roam around, have chit chat, play games etc.

People surely will love the college. Full of greenery, good infrastructure, helpful faculties, socialised life, nice food etc make our campus life really enjoyable. The only negative remark on our college is the large number of stray dogs in our campus.

Positives are the main thing is our faculty they will treate you like a friend and the campus of my college looks very very very beautiful. Climate is too good and college infrastructure are good to see.

There is No good courts in our college for every game. That will major negative remark that I would expect. The positive remark is placements that we get a core company jobs and get a high paid salaries.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
