Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

There is alot of things the College management and the authorities needs to workout especially on the fees structure which is really a burden for a poor student, one more important thing is quality food that is needs to be served in mess

National institute of technology Calicut

Remarks:

It has the best faculties and placement. Also the campus is large. The atmosphere in this college is actually pleasing. You can see greenery anywhere. There are a large number of clubs in this college. Robot interest group , team unwired , aero unwired , debating club ,music club. Etc etc. you can join the club of your interest.

My Experience in Nitc

Remarks:

Recently it has got its position(4th)back in NIT Rankings list by MHRD. and our college is 2nd in rankings all over IIT's NIT's IIIT's GFTI's in Architecture!!. Ragging also becomes nill in recent times and I have not found any negative remarks about our college up to now!

Best among nits

Remarks:

There are both positive as well as negative remarks in the college. All the above are the positive for sure and we are one among top five NITS. One among top 2eight institutions in our countries Negative is only one point as per my view. It is the hostel buildings are very old (few are new and few are under construction)

It's a deemed university and running by central government

Remarks:

I really like my college because it gave me such a talented, sweet friends for lifetime. It gave me opportunities even in sports arts and internships aspects also. Infrastructure is really lovely and fantastic.

Does Everything but Engineering

Remarks:

Its a balance of all good and evil. Its like life, if u want to go in a good path, there are plenty of options and vice versa. You get more life skills from college than the Bookworm knowledge teachers try to feed us.

National institute of theories

Remarks:

You eill have much qualified faculties.But sometime they will not be available and some adhoc faculties will be tak8ng the classes for you. You have a computer lab which is functioning from 7 am to 12 am. But for girls it is upto 9 pm. You can find lot of labs in each department. Lot of facilities for a sportsman.We have a swimming pool. And most importantly it's a green campus full of trees.

Remarks:

The college is outstanding. We have all that we require in the college campus. However there are some restriction to the first years that should be reduced. The cultural fest and tech fest are really awesome. Overall the institute is excellent.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
