The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Campus facilites such as classroms, play grounds were well maintained.
The societies and hackathon provide a great opportunity to explore
Friends crowd in campus is from all over india.

Dislikes

The campus mess food and cafeteria was not well organized

Placement Experience:

The mechanical engineering department has to do an internship in 6 semesters and placements in the 8th semester. For mechanical core companies such as Hero Honda, Bajaj, JSPL, JSW, Vedanta, and various others around 60+ companies visit the campus. There was around 90% of students were placed in my batch. I have to work in corporate hence I got an opportunity to work with JSPL.

campus infrastructure is great. so many things to explore
faculty is good if you are willing to study
fests and events are great too happen very often

Dislikes

program office does not work structurely they still need to improve alot of things
the timings are not that great..it just drains out energy.at the end of the day you would not like to do any hobby
there are many restrictions..some of them are pretty unnecessary

Placement Experience:

I am still in second year so dont know much about placement policy but also our senior batch will be the first one to pass out.. so we really dont have any idea about placement rate.. but have heard about placements from teachers

College Societies, Events, and Culture among Students

Placement Experience:

Thapar is known for its placement, but for the 2023 batch, it was not that well considering the Recession scenario. We have companies such as Accenture, Apple, BCN, BCG, and JP Morgan. It is said if you are in Thapar you will get placed later or sooner.

Placement Experience:

Thapar provides great placement opportunities for its students. Students here become eligible for campus placement from the 7th semester onwards. There were many companies that visited our campus including Microsoft, Samsung, Apple, JP Morgan, Optum, and many others. The number of offers made until now is approx 1497 and still counting. The highest package is approx 40 lacs and the lowest is approx 5 lacs. Approx 80% of students are already placed.

Good infrastructure of the classrooms and library with a enjoyable campus life
Course content and the faculty who teaches us
The placemet offered to the students and the placement rate of thapar

faculty-student there are alot of students in one class
High fees- Fees of the institute is bit high and is not affordable for some
The location of the institute the city in which the institute is situated.

Placement Experience:

Students from 3rd year become eligible for campus placements. Around 300-400 companies visit Thapar every year giving 1500-2000 offers every year. The highest package offered is 44LPA and the average package is 11LPA. Almost 100 students get placed in Thapar.

Totally worthy experience

Placement Experience:

Students get eligible from the 5th semester for internship opportunities. Placements begin in the 7th semester. A lot of companies: 300+ visit campus for placements and offer diverse roles. The highest package for my placement went to 45 LPA and the average package for the previous year was 10.97 LPA. This year also placements are great. Above 90% of students get placed.

Campus Life and Placement was something I liked about Thapar University. In the last year the faculty is chill about attendance so you can enjoy your time at thapar and roam around patiala. There is a surety of placement what else do you need?

Placement Experience:

There is a very good record of Placements at Thapar, especially talking about the Computer Science streams like CSBS, CSE, and COE. 99 percent of students are placed every year. The Placement Cell is very good. They have some policies like once a student has got an offer for full-time + intern then they can not participate in placement. If a student has only got FTE then they can sit for only intern offering companies, likewise, if a student has got only an intern offer then they can sit for only FTE offering companies.

Internship opportunities at Thapar University, Patiala

Hostel, Library, Seniors, Placements these were some of the things that I really admire about my college and feel lucky to be a student of Thapar University. I was also fortunate enough to have great friends and helping seniors always by my side.

Placement Experience:

The campus offers good placement opportunities for students enrolled in BE program. Companies visiting the campus hire for Tech, non-tech, and core roles as well. However, tech opportunities are more relative to other domains. The highest offer made was around 40 lahks pa with an avg of 10 lakh pa. 70-80 percent of the batch gets hired easily during the campus placements.

The college provided us with alot of amenties
The opportunity to connect with a lot of different people from different corners of the country
The placement support was really good, they helped us improve our soft skills along with hard skills.

I hate how this time had to come to an end
The strength of the class is way too high.
The communication between seniors and juniors is minimal

The college works really hard to provide students with the best opportunities to boost their careers. As it was established a long time ago, the alumni support is really good. After my degree, I want to work for a well-established firm and gain as much experience as I can.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
