The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

The infrastructure is immaculate by far.
the campus life is very extremely good on its own
The faculty is extremely helpful to the students

The placement rates are great, more than 300 companies visited the campus last year, alot of them giving mass recruitments, especially for the core branches. The average package goes around 11 lakhs/ year.

Placement Experience:

The placement process is very transparent and very reliable. You can easily get a decent package if you are good at your studies and there are plenty of opportunities that you get from campus placements. All the big companies like Bain, Delloite, EY, Paytm, MakeMyTrip, etc visit the campus for new recruits every year.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology - at a glance.

Likes

Architecture, Library, various societies.
Almost everyone gets placed with a decent package.
It is nice. Alumni is good. Faculty is reachable beyond teaching hours. Events are well.

Dislikes

The fees is absurdly high for middle class students.
Placement rules are strict and not favourable.
All the events are organised around the end sem examinations.

Placement Experience:

It depends on various branches, usually, it's from the 7th semester. I am still determining. DE SHAW came for 3rd-year internships but went without any offer. 40 LPA, it was off-campus Amazon, and Barclays offers. Almost everyone gets placed. There are some hard rules during placement season though. I will be determined to get a placement.

I like the campus of Thapar . It is very huge and is made very beautiful. So i liked to roam around my campus with my friends all the time.
I liked living in hostel because i made so many memories there. Our late night talks, walks, party, gossips , all the fun.

Placement Experience:

From 6-7 semester students became eligible for campus placements. There were many companies like expedia, deloitte, blackrock, accenture and made offers to like around 40-50 students. The highest package I think was of expedia around 40lpa and average package is around 9-10 lpa for software engineering role. Around 70-80% students are placed . I am planning to join my job after degree.

It is very difficult to travel as campus is very big

The placement at Thapar University is very good. many companies like apple, Microsoft, Google, Adobe visit here which make plenty of opportunities for all the students, internship are also offered but hard to get

The placements are quite good here. The university provides internship opportunities from 2nd year itself only. One can explore many opportunities off campus as well. Most of the students enrolled in the course get placed. Reputed companies like Google, Microsoft, Jaypee Morgan, Apple, and Barclay's provide on-campus placements.

All you need to know about Thapar University, Patiala

Likes

the infrastructure is top knotch here, the buildings and greenery are beautiful
friendly environment and no ragging occurs
the professors are very helpful and enthusiastic

Dislikes

the fees of the courses are very high compared to other colleges
the wifi facility is not that good as the network is weak in hostel
too many exams take place all along the semester

Huge campus area and proper natural environment
Good hostel accomodation, and the edible mess food
Helpful proffesors and their chill nature

Dislikes

Some proffesors who are highly qualified, still aren't able to teach
Highly restrictive timings for going out of campus
Declining society culture due to administration

Placement Experience:

TIET offers a considerably good amount of placements, with packages ranging from as low as 6lpa to as high as 60-70lpa. Also, the percentage of students getting placement is quite high for the current year.

Awesome infrastructure of Thapar, with beautiful lecture halls, and specially the Library.
THAPAR TAG. You are no less than VIP in Punjab, Haryana.
Sports Facilities- There are facilities available for a huge numbers of sports

Dislikes

For the first year students, the hostels available have bad infrastructure.
Fees- The fees of Thapar Institute is huge

Placement Experience:

The placements at my college are decent. Students may be eligible for campus placements after the 5th-6th semesters. In the year 2022, above 95% of students who applied for placements were placed from COE(Computer Engineering) branch. Top recruiting companies were Amazon, Deloitte, IBM, Microsoft, Infosys, Maruti, and many others. The highest on-campus placement last year was around 50-55 lakhs per annum. The average placement for COE in Thapar Institute was around 12LPA, with a median salary of 10LPA. Almost 60% of students get internships in the 3rd year of their graduation. COE is the best branch as it deals with both hardware and software, so it leads to overall development which is the primary requirement for becoming an engineer in today's world. After getting the degree, I want to explore myself and want a good placement by a company that needs my skills.

Glimpse of Thapar university

Likes

The campus is housed on 250 acre land in Patiala.
Top ranked A+ grade institution with great facility.
Sprawling green campus with sports facilities.

Dislikes

The fee is very high and it keeps on increasing every year.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for summer internship, that is for two months, from the third year onwards. For placements only fourth-year students are eligible. 99 percent of students get placed in the computer science branch.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
