Jadavpur University Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The course curriculum is great. Professors are really helpful. They will teach you enough to have a good life while practicing Architecture or if you opt for higher studies in the future. Every class has 1 Professor and 2 or 3 master students to assist the professor. Exams are moderately difficult.

Till now as I have heard, almost all the students get placed from here if they have worked hard honestly with an average package of 8-9 LPA I am studying here just to get a decent job to support my family

Placement has been great this year. I'm studying production engineering this year. So far around 32 students has been placed out of 45 students. Placement was mostly offered by the software and consultancy companies. PWC, Capgemini, BridgeI2i, OPTUM, INCREFF, LTI, PayU, Infosys, Wipro Turbo, Gupshup, Airbus are the companies came so far. Gupshup provided the highest package as Software Development Engineer (28 lpa )(CTC). Core competencies are yet to come at the end of October. Around 85% students of the batch is expected to be placed in the year.

Students get internship offers by the middle of the third year and the training starts during the summer vacation of the fourth year. Many PSUs and other software and IT companies visit our campus for campus placements. Many foreign companies visit our university with placement offers. The percentage of students placed every year is really very high in Jadavpur University as compared to any other college.

95% of students are placed during the placement. Company like Amazon, Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, microsoft, Tata and many more takes students for their company during placement. Many students persue Mtech or PhD .

To be honest, the placement scenario in our university is one of the best in the whole country. Saying about our department, this year companies that came includes Bajaj Motors (8 LPA), Airbus (10LPA), Optum(16LPA), Gupshup ( 28.5LPA), PWC (8LPA), Capgemini (7LPA), TCS Digital, and a few more. Highest Package - 28.5LPA. Lowest Package - 7LPA (Till now). Every year around 80 % of students gets placed via on campus rest gets via off campus and some opt for higher studies. My plans are of securing a good rank in the CAT exam and do an MBA.

I had to sit for an entrance exam for B.A. but since I am continuing pursuing the same course in M.A. too, I was accepted here for M.A. simply because it's an integrated 5yrs course.

Students for 3rd year are eligible to sit for internships and placements. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Benett Coleman Group, Bajaj Auto, Daikin, Capgemini, TCS, Deutsche Bank recruit students every year. In 2020, 647 students were placed. The percentage of students placed stand aroung 84%, with Computer Science at 100% placements in 2020.

Students start getting internships and placements opportunities after the fifth Semester. Many companies like Adobe, Microsoft, Samsung, TCS, Infosys, Directi etc visit the campus throughout the campus to hire students. They conduct a Coding test based on knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms first then an Interview round is conducted. Finally, a list is released for those students who got selected. For example this year Microsoft hire 5 students from CSE Department, Samsung hired 15 students. The highest package went around Rs 54 lakhs per annum offered by Microsoft. The average package of the CSE department went around Rs 19 lakhs per annum. Almost more than 90% of students get placed. Other students don't sit for placement because they were preparing for some competitive exams like CAT. GATE, UPSC etc. My plans are after getting a degree I will be joining some IIM to study Management and Business Studies. I am currently preparing for CAT Examination to get some good IIM.

From 6th-semester students start getting placed in various fields. Some prominent companies in which students are placed are Amazon, Texas Instruments, ONGC, GAIL, American Express, etc. The official websites can be checked for the accurate no. of offers. The highest package is 38 LPA and the average one is 12.3 LPA. More than 95% of students are placed. My plans after getting the degree are persuing Masters from any prominent University.
