Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

I made a good number of friends and learned many things from them.

Few professors don't want to give marks.

Placement Experience:

From sixth semester the students become eligible for campus placements. There are several companies which offer a good package. Highest package in my course is 12LPA and lowest is 3LPA. More than 85% students got placement.

It's because nit Durgapur is one of the best nits in India and I was not getting any higher nit than this. faculty: student ratio is good. all the faculties are mostly from reputed world universities and iits.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i got that in the councelling faculty student ration approximately 1:15 highly qualified and with many holding PhDs and postgraduate degree the faculty memmers use a variety of teaching methodes including lectures interective discussions, case studies and project work etc. conducted as per the academic calender and schedule is usually announced well in advanced the difficultylevel of exam can vary depending on the course and the faculty member responsible for the exam

Very good placements. CSE, ECE, EE and CHE have great placements approx more than 90% of the students get placed here. But some branches like civil and biotechnology has less scope of placements in core

It has a good ambiance with supportive faculty members
Good sports and gym facilities with a variety of sports to choose from.

Dislikes

Clubs can sometimes be over-engaging with lots of club activities
You have to maintain a compulsory 75% attendance
Some professors are a bit at strict at times

The students are eligible for placements right from the third semester or second year. There are a large number of companies coming every year including : Microsoft-4 Amazon-10 Tata motors-20 Vedanta-33 Hero-19 Qualcomm -7 and many more... Highest Package- 51 lpa Average Package - 11 lpa with a decent placement percentage of 89%

The story of NIT DGP

Likes

Very nice freedom in the campus in and out is very flexible
Can get everything u need in techno and u don't have to go outside
Many books are available in the library and teachers are very educated

Dislikes

They don't have very nice furnished rooms in hostel
Very bad sports situation in the college
The location of the college is not in a good city

Campus life is the best. You get freedom and you can do anything. There is a free campus for you where you can roam 3 at night with your girlfriend and no one is to tell you anything. You can bath or not in winter is in u .
You can go for library for hours to study and take any book u want with anyone, maybe your girlfriend 😜. ECE is a cazz if u get take it blindly

Mess in first year. That is worst. Many restrictions on first year's
Don't take electrical engineering in this college. It is the toughest one
Mechanical students have a lot of pressure on them.

Placement Experience:

5th semester for internships and onwards you may get PPO and from 7th semester you will get full-fledged placement opportunities though from 6th it starts. 57lpa highest and 18.8lpa average salary for CSE 95% choose the placement and others for higher studies, by their own wish. If you are in CSE, there is a 99.99% probability of your placement. Placement

The placement was good you can imagine by seeing the average package is 11.32 lakh. 44 students got a 47lakh package which is amazing and more than 89% of students got placed. My plan is to get a job after getting a degree

Students become eligible for placement from the seventh semester. About 200+ companies visit the campus. The highest package is offered by Microsoft which is 55 LPA and the average package is 11 LPA. various job profiles are offered in various branches. Almost 80-90% of students get placement from campus. I will be joining Larsen & Turbo limited as a graduate engineer trainee which I got in campus placement

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
