Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

PROS AND CONS OF NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

Campus life is good. First year has a lot of restrictions, but subsequent years are linient.
Good infrastructure, bew building projects are on its way.

Dislikes

Faculty: student ratio is very low that what we expect.

Placement Experience:

In 5th semester, students become eligible to sit for internships on campus and in 7th semester they become eligible for placement interviews and tests. About 700+ offers were made. For more details, you can check the cdc NITDGP LinkedIn profile. HIGHEST - 70 lpa, Avg - 13 lpa. Approx placement percentage 80%.

NIT DURGAPUR AT A GLANCE

Likes

Students are from all over India, thus there is diversity in the campus.
The clubs and societies are very much active in this college
The college provides good placements , which has improved in recent times.

Dislikes

The campus is 190 acres, which is small than other nits/iits
There is no swimming pool in the campus.
Restriction in the first year is quite high .

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students are eligible for internships and from 7th semester students starts getting placements from the college. Some companies such as JPMC&Co, Bajaj, Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon,AWS, Tata motors, jsw, Highest package was 70lpa and the avg package was 13.64 lpa and more than 85% students are placed

The campus life

Likes

Campus area neither too big nor too large.greenery . Ovals the ground.auditorium
Fest... in incredible.... and the unity of students to stand as one irrespective of states and diff culture
Professor staff everyone is very helpful.

Dislikes

At times the mess food becomes uneatable
The schedule becomes too hectic to be followed.
Sometimes the people in the campus end up being toxic

Course Curriculum Overview:

Nit dgp is known for its ROYAL Mechanical branch. It's one of the oldest branches. A curriculum includes a wide variety of range from Reynolds numbers to gear design there's a good student-to-faculty ratio. Professors are mostly students of the colleges they are fantastic in their teaching. talking of there teaching methods they use.. the old chalk and green board. When needed the digital board is also available. There are 3 exams in a sem(15+25+60). Studying one week before an exam is sufficient to get good marks.

NIT Durgapur Short Review

Fully Functioned AC classroom with WIFI facility
Well equipped room with ample amount of light and air with wifi facility
Most of the teachers are very helpful and they are very concerned about our safety and well being.

Dislikes

The college authority neglects the sports equipment quality and they dont maintain fields here.

Placement Experience:

From the start of 3rd sem, students are eligible for on-campus internships and from 4th sem, students are eligible for campus placements. Microsoft, Wells Fargo, JPMC, PWC, IBM, MathWorks, TCS, IDFC Bank, HDFC Bank and many many more companies come for campus placements. The highest package is offered 57 lpa and the average package is 16lpa or above. Most companies hire for the role SDE, Product Manager, Data Analyst, Bank Manager etc. roles. Almost 90 percent of the students are placed by on-campus placement drive.

NIT DURGAPUR IN NUTSHELL

Likes

The faculties are really good and helpful over here.
The club culture and fests are good in this college. The campus life is also good as the restrictions are lighter from 2nd year onwards.
The diverseness in the campus as it has students from all over India.

Dislikes

Small campus size compared to other NITs / IITs.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placements from 3RD year only. The companies start coming from around August to hire. Major companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, JP Morgan, Texas Instruments, and L&T along with some Psus such as iocl, bhel etc come for recruitment over here. Last year there were more than 600 offers made. The highest package was 70 lpa on campus and the average package was 13.64 lpa. more than 85% of students were placed. I plan to go for higher studies after completing b.tech.

Placement Experience:

Placemets are quite hood on the campus nit Durgapur specially trains and encourages the students to sit for internships and placements. A student is eligible to seat for the internships at the beginning of the third and placements from the beginning of the final year.. a student can manage getting a PPO after completing the internship in the 3rd which is also encouraged by the student. The other criteria regarding to placements and internship is quite well-defined in the NIT dgps website.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
