Likes

Scholarships like nsp etc are provided to students by applying to respective forms and staff is helpful.
The helpful faculty of the college which provide the students with valuable information and inside into the academic knowledge needed to succeed in life . the understanding of the teachers towards the students.
Placement cell is very supportive and number of companies they have manage to bring to the table is great.

Dislikes

The teachers teach well, but due to low strictness levels and no discipline there is high irregularity of attendance and students don't attend classes properly.
Faculty is little bit not so qualified. but they are so much arrogant.
The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:60 in core subjects and it goes slightly lower for the electives.

In the view : dyal singh college

Likes

One of the things that i like about my college is its location as it is adjacent to thr nia building and there is a lot armed forces around our college which makes it a crime free place
The campus in itself is very nice the facilities are top notch
The overall college experience is also very fun the sports and college society are really engaging and fun

Dislikes

Lack of air conditioners in the summer it gets really hot
Poor canteen facilities its very often that you can see videos being shared of the poor quality and very unhygienic college canteen
Gates of college can be closed randomly and the security guards are very rude and impolite

My course is ba entrepreneurship and small business + history which is a very new course being introduced a year before i enrolled its a very interesting subject it covers all topics related to business and the way our course is designed is that each student has to choose a major and minor in my case entrepreneurship is my major and history is minor

Pros and Cons of Dyal singh

Likes

The thing I liked is campus it is so huge and big compared to a lot of other colleges.
The accessibility and location was quite good and on point near metro is the biggest plus point.
The studies were also quite good and the functions and programs that used to happen.

Dislikes

Maybe the teachers take the schedule a little lighter and it is not for everyone.
Internships are not as easily available as placements are.

Placement Experience:

There are a lot of opportunities available when it comes to placement. Approximately 30 companies visited in which there were companies like KPMG, EY, GENPACT, L&T. A lot of students got placed approximately a percentage of 70-80%. Others did not sit for it as there were other plans of them.

Review of Dyal Singh College: You must have a look.

Likes

Dyal Singh has one of the biggest and beautiful campus of DU.
It has very beautiful auditorium and amphitheater.
It has separate grounds for football and tennis, basketball court etc. and a separate NCC ground.

Dislikes

Quality of food in canteen could be improved.
Our Library contains a lot of old archives but lacks new books
Administration of the college might not be supportive at times.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course contains the revised curriculum of NEP 2019-20. While the course prepare students for future academic pursuits but the curriculum still lacks behind to prepare one for real world application. I feel the subjects could be equipped with more practicals and new softwares and technologies. Due to NEP we have 7 subjects which feels burden and increases the difficulty.

LIFE AT DSC. DU

Likes

I love the college campus, the societies and the crowd.
DSC offers a varied range of subjects, the popular ones are Economics, Political, English
The college location and proximity to metro is very near

Dislikes

The canteen can do better, the food is okayish
The annual event is not something that I like
The attendance maintainance is very hard

Economics honors can be tiring sometimes because you need to study a lot for it, but at the end it is all worth it because the course provides you knowledge which is specialized and also job opportunities

Life in a Delhi University college

Likes

The library is well equipped with books and journals.
The campus is pretty big and well equipped with all facilities.
The security is good as nobody without id proof can get in the campus.

Dislikes

The teachers are not very helpful and you cannot get in touch after class hours.
The management is very lazy as everything is pretty slow.
The classroom and furniture is pretty old and rusty.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is not as robust as some other colleges but it's still pretty okay. You will get placement opportunity only in a select few courses and even in them not many get selected but many good companies visit the college like KPMG, Pwc etc.

Dyal singh college to apply or not

Likes

As per the things said before entering the college that it's famous for fights but in contrast in our batch its very less the college area is very good and environment is also good
College area, gardens and playgrounds in college are good and infrastructure of college is average instead the evening building is good
If you join college for extra curricular activities then do join societies, the dance theatre photography faishon and art societies are so active

Dislikes

Classes getting cancelled as a ever happening thing in du classes get cancel on often basis and you are left with doing nothing
Administration of our college is bit slow but it can work

The Course Structure is In Bit More Towards Theory And Less Practical Exposure And It is Like Coming To Class Studying And Going Back Unless You Have Joined A Society Or Have Friends To Roam Around With, The Life Gets Stuck In the Same Situation

Dyal singh college review

In my department, the teachers are good and some are very serious although some are non serious too, if you are doing good or average in the class you will get recognised by professor and they have studied from dse,jnu so they have good knowledge
There are two sections of the batch so class size is small around 35 ,infrastructure is average but campus is very vast, there is an auditorium and an amphitheatre also,the sports facilities are also there, societies are good if you are serious
The college is located just at the gate of the metro, the location is very good,NIA building is just near so there is high security in the area and there are good spots near college like lodhi garden,sundar nursery , humayun tomb,khan market etc.

Dislikes

Internship opportunities and placements are not that good
There is no hostel availability and no pg or flat you will find near college, you will get near jangpura and moolchand,
Many students here are not that serious about studies

Placement Experience:

The placements here are average and totally depends on the potential of the student , college can't provide that much opportunity but you will get internship opportunities here, there is a placement cell too which provides internship opportunities

Dyal Singh College: south campus

Likes

The best thing about this college is its campus . The college is situated in a very peaceful area with lush green trees surrounding the college . The campus is huge that makes it one of the most biggest campus in Delhi University
The location of dyal singh college is the best . There a lot of hangout spots nearby where you can chill with your friends including lodhi garden, sundar nursery, hamayun tomb etc
The easily available transportation.tge metro is just 1 minute walking distance and the buses stop right at the college gate . There are a lot of autorickshaw available just infront of the college

Dislikes

The crowd. The crowd of the college is below average. Dyal Singh College is known for its fights and I've experienced it a lot . Theres always a fight happening in the college
The fest. It has one of the worst fests in Delhi University.no good singer performing despite being one of the famous colleges in du
The staff . The staff of the college is really rude and ill mannered.

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell in Dyal Singh college. Some of the few visiting companies of the college are tata consultancy, pregrad, prisco, DeltaX etc. the placements of the college are below average having the average package of 400000 pa . However there are a lot of internship opportunities for students where they can learn about the industry.

DSC deserves a special title!!

Likes

The best part of DLC was that bus stop is attached to college's gate number 2 and therefore we hardly had to walk.
A degree from DSC draws attention to any employer and therefore placements becomes very easy.
Skill development program is taught at DSC and many good companies come to DSC for placements.

Dislikes

Some old white professors should be changed as they still have adopted the ancient way of teaching.

KPMG, Jaro, and PWC among many other companies are a part of our placement community and many students were offered jobs my them. I thought was preparing for MBA and after my degree this year, I have joined DR BR Ambedkar University and I am pursuing MBA from there.

Dyal Singh College is underrated

Likes

I like the diversity in the my collage people from different states are there.
Very friendly environment and supportive classmates.
Happening college and active societies makes it perfect place to study

Dislikes

A set of people from specific communities destroy the vibe.
Placement rate is lower than expected in reality
Class rooms have lighting issues and you'll have to manage in little.

Form semester 1 students are eligible for internships and placements. Our college placement rate is not so high but avg salary revolves around 9 lakhs and highest was around 35 lpa. Top companies like big 4 ey dellotie KPMG and PWC come here to hire people.
