The NCET Exam will be conducted by NTA to get admission into a 4 Year Integrated Teacher Education Program(ITEP). Earlier, the NCET 2026 exam was scheduled for only 17 April 2026 in 2 shifts. Now an additional shift has been added on 18th April 2026 in a single shift, due to unavoidable circumstances.
The NTA has released the NCET City Intimation Slip on 9 April 2026 on its official website – exams.nta.nic.in/ncet/. Candidates can download their city intimation slip by using their application number and password.

- According to the current update, the NCET is expected to reintroduce a 1-year B.Ed. and M.Ed. program for 2026 - 2027, replacing the 2-year format, which started in 2014.
- The NCET Paper is divided into 4 sections, including Language Proficiency, Subject Domain Knowledge, Teaching Aptitude and General Test, and Logical Reasoning with Numerical Ability.
- The NCET 2026 Exam will be held in a CBT Mode, including 160 MCQs, which carry a total of 640 marks, and with each correct answer candidate will get +4 marks without any negative marking.
In NCET, more than 5,000 seats are offered by central, state and participating universities through ITEP.
In Public universities, the annual course fees are between INR 25,000 to 60,000 and in private universities, the charges may be higher according to the facilities and location.
