Positive :Its a deemed central funded university. It has its own authority for taking any decisions. No political parties are allowed. The NIT Durgapur is institutes of National importants. Negative : Its fees is really high. Its nearly 1. 4lakh per semester. Its really very very high.
Course Curriculum Overview
Its a deemed University. It has its own curriculum. The course curriculum is quite good and industrial project oriented. IOT and machine learning has been included in courses. There are semester based examination.
Placement Experience
The placement is quite good. Qualcomm, Samsung R&D, L&T, Nokia are top recruiter. PSUs like BHEL, IOCL, BEL C. Dot are also come. This year Highest package was 34Lpa. Average package 6. 5lpa. Cse and ECe has almost 80% placement. Civil has low placement percentage.
College Events
Recstacy is our college annual cultural festival. Also we have Aarohan techno management fest. Virasat is our classical music festival. We have food festival from different part of the country. We also celebrating Ganesh puja saraswati puja. we also celebrating uttrayan (kite festival)
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fess is expensive. Its nearly 69k per semester. For the new batch they are paying 1. 4 Lakh per semester. Fees is really high with respect to the central government university. These are really a bad situation for people having weak economical condition.
Fees and Financial Aid
SBI provide unconditional loan for the students of NIT Durgapur. college also provide institutes scholarship to the top ranked students. Various other government scholarships are also available here. NSP, swami Vivekananda scholarship. If you are from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya students then Samsung will provide 2lpa scholarship to you.
Campus Life
NIT Durgapur has its own football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, hockey, chess ibstructor. Dancing singing are conducting by music club and dance club of NIT Durgapur. We have also inter NIT sports meet.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are compulsory. You have to pay nearly 3k per month for hostel and fooding. The hostels are nice and infrastructures are really pretty. For Final year you will be given a single room. Bathrooms and toilets are cleaning regularly. The accomodation is comfortable and cheap in cost with respect to other factors.
Alumni/Alumna
NIT Durgapur has a great alumni network. Its organized by the alumni cell of NIT Durgapur. We have regular alumni meet every year. Also we have global alumni meet for the people out of the country. Our alumni are working in google facebook Qualcomm Texus instrument. Many are also in PSUs like SAIL GAIL IOCL NTPC ISRO BARC.
Admission
NITs take their students from JEE mains. If you want to take admission in NIT Durgapur you have to bring your AIR below 4k for general candidates. For computer science and Electronics you have to be below AIR 2k
Faculty
Here all the faculties having their phd degree. Some of the faculties have their own patents also. All most everyone has publications in reputed journals. Many are senior members of IEEE and ACM. The quality of knowledge is quite appreciable.
