The only good engineering college in durgapur, this college is a dream for many. Being from a middle class family i could only afford govt. college. I choose this course because i am really keen to learn how different materials are used to make different things and how minerals are used to make different things.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course syllabus and curriculum is good and modified regularly to meed the current needs of the industry. Lots of industry exposure and we are taken for industry visits a lot. Faculty is excellent for our branch and really intelligent.
Placement Experience
Being a lower branch, placements are not as high as cse or it but decent enough. Highest package was around 15lpa and lowest around 2.5lpa. Some of the core companies visiting are Tata steels, Tata paints, Vedanta, Adani steels, Asian Paints etc.
College Events
Large fests are organised by the college management. Some small fests are also organised by college clubs. Workshops, competitions, hackathons, talk shows, etc.are held regularly. Many societies/clubs are present in the college.
Campus Life
Campus is large about 187acres in area. Lush green campus. 2big sports ground and separate room for indoor games. Library has tonnes of books and journals of both indian and foreign authors. Labs doo have equipments but they are less in no. so you have to grab the opportunity of doing practical or else you will miss the practical.
