Remarks
The application process for the colleges like National Institute of Technology opens only through the JOSAA Counselling, which is totally based on the Rank obtained in JEE Main Entrance Exam. Since, I got admitted to this college, on the basis of my HOME STATE Quota, under which, students from the same state as of the College, gets first preference. At my time, the cut off rank for home state quota in Electronics and Communication Engineering was nearly about, 21000, and my rank was 23787. But still I managed to get a seat in Electronics and Communication Engineering, as I have applied to it through CSAB counseling. Apart from all these things, if you are also curious to know your college, which can be allocated to you on the basis of the obtained marks, then College Duniya is one of the best sites. During my time, it gave me better suggestions, like, which colleges i was getting, such as, Private colleges in my state, and Private colleges in south India also.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have enrolled myself in Electronics and Communication Engineering, as I was getting seats in that branch only and other lower branches. Talking about our Faculties, they are really very good, as they are very motivating, and all are very well experienced, as they can understand that, a person is facing difficulties in which topics and all. In our college, faculty members also put emphasis on entrepreneurship, as they support any budding startup ideas, and that is why there are clubs regarding that. About student ratio, yes, it is a factor of concern, as there are very few girls present in the class, i.e. only 20% but, from this year onwards, that ratio limit has been removed.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of companies come for the summer internship opportunities, like Microsoft, Amazon, JPMC, etc. All of them give PPO offer at the end, which means, you will be placed at the end of the 3rd year only, and you can enjoy 4th year. Regarding projects and all, the faculty members give projects to each department accordingly.
Placement Experience
As the name only suggests that, NIT has a very fine placement in it. Apart from that, major companies that visit our campus are Microsoft, Google, JPMc, Goldman Sach, Uber, amazon, etc all having their base package above 15 LPA. Every year nearly about 500-600 students get placed and out of them, majority get placed in the IT companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Talking about fees, the fees vary over wide range, as for general students the fees is nearly about 68000 per semester whereas, for SC/St, the fees is only 6000, whereas, for EWS, the fees is 28000 per semester. About scholarships, our college provides scholarships to anyone who deserves it, thats why, there are various scholarship scheme, which you can even go through on websites.
Campus Life
Talking about college life, well, till now, I haven't been able to go to the college campus, as our studies are going online right now. Regarding social life, the college provides a very good environment to each and every student in each and every possible manner they can, as there are sports facilities, and various cultural clubs and Coding clubs, and development clubs. The annual fest of our campus is the most famous in eastern India, and even all over India. There is a Cultural fest and a Technical fest, under which, major technical events used to be organized.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are very fine, as there is all type of basic facilities that are required. There used to be no Power cutoff, Wifi down the problem, Water problem, all are okay. But sometimes, whenever they are going to be unavailable for the next few days the campus authorities will inform you prior only and give you backups also. Mean is a matter of concern, as all meals of each and every Mess is just a Mess... but on every Wednesday, there is a gala dinner. The hostel charges are very minimum, i.e. 3500 for 6 months, the only problem is that, if there is a rain of nearly about 150mm or above, the campus would be flooded.
