Remarks

I gave JEE mains exam as I wanted to do engineering and based on the factors like distance from house, ranking of college, preferred branch and also from word of mouth of people i chose this college. Firstly i gave JEE mains and got a rank of about 21k and then applied for josaa counselling . Till round 7 i was not getting the desired college and branch so went forward for the CSAB round. In CSAB round 2 I got NIT Durgapur Electrical Engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

College professors here like any other national college are highly qualified , most of them are PHD's and are undergoing research work. However when it comes to teaching then you have to give efforts to gain knowledge from them as in class many of them are not so interested and just give monotonous lectures and it is difficult to hold your interest in the subject. However some profs are very good and they make sure that students remain attentive and are interested towards their subject.student to professor ratio is 1:8.Also regarding exams there are two term exams in a semester one mid sem (25 marks) and one end sem (60 marks) with a little effort and by solving previous year question papers its not much difficult to pass these exams.

4

The hostels are very good inside the institute there are 14 hostels, 10 for boys and 4 for girls.First years are given a seperate hostel hall 11 for boys and hall 7 for girls . Hall 11 consists of 6 floors each floor having 10 bathrooms and toilets each. Also each bathroom has geysers in them which are very convenient during winters, also first ears are given one room per 3 students. Mess food is quite above average and there is not much issue about mess food. special food is given on thursday and sunday.Fees of hostel and mess is abou 16k per semester.

Admission

NO there is no such group discussion or GD that you have to face for the interview you just have to prepare for the JEE Mains examination and give the exam. After the result according to your rank you will get various NIT's, GFTI's, IIIT's you can apply in them according to your preference. After seat allotment you have to report to the college campus where you will have to do document verification and after which your admission will be done.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
