Remarks
Main reason of choosing NIT durgapur was it's reputation, location, infrastructure and amazing placement history. As it is in my home state, I can easily come back to my house in need. A lot of companies visit our institution during internship and placement session.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am currently pursuing Mechanical Engineering. The student ratio is approx 2:1 in my branch. Most of the professors are very friendly and helpful and provide us with quality study material. Some professors are using modern techniques like using various software but a few still prefer the pen and pencil method. We normally have three exams per semester. The time between each semester is enough to prepare.
Internships Opportunities
Yeah there are lot of internship opportunities in out college. Most of the IT companies are done with their internship offers. And the core companies started to visit our campus.
Placement Experience
A lot of companies visit out college during internship and placement period. The highest package offered was 44lpa. This year 15+ people got the highest package. More than 50% students are already placed and some are busy with the interviews and some are going for higher studies.
College Events
In simple words, our college life before lockdown was fun. There a number of clubs that conduct different kind of events. There are three main fest in out college. AAROHAN which is the second largest Techno-Management fest of Eastern India, is conducted by 5 clubs. There is another fest named VERVE conducted by a single club. And we have a NITYAMINI which is conducted by the student body.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total cost of UG program is approximately 560000 RS including hostel fees. But, there are scholarship for different categories, economically weak sections and for disable persons. Also one can apply to the bank for education loan.
Campus Life
Campus infrastructure is pretty nice and it is developing every day. The library size was pretty big and we had multiple copies of each book. In hostel ans in library we have decent wifi connections. The equipment in the labs are modern.
Hostel Facilities
In the room one can get a personal bed, wardrobe, Table and chair. The first years have 3 persons in each room but the room size is quite big. Final year students get solo room. There are options for hot and cold drinkable water.
Admission
No, there was no interview or exams during the admission but there was one document verification round. We all had to go through JEE for getting admission in this college.
