It is one of the old NITs and formerly called as Regional Engineering College, Durgapur. It has good placement statics and also located near to industrial area which enhances student for practical knowledge.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in Electrical Engineering so I opted for this course. There around 23 senior professors and lab technicians. Most of the faculty is student friendly but strict in academics. They give their best in teaching and finds more efficient methods to teach even in this ONLINE mode. The exams are conducted in regular intervals and the paper has good standards in problem solving. The lab exams are bit difficult .
Internships Opportunities
There are many internship opportunities available in college which refers to on campus internships. Many good interns are offered to different departments. The campus has good interns take in software sector and also as good opportunities in core sector as well
Placement Experience
There are lot of national and international companies visit campus for placement offers. Many companies like Microsoft, TATA, JIO, PWC, JPMC etc. visit the campus for placements. They offer good package to the students. I could only some of my seniors got package of 9 to 12 LPA. Many students also prefer to write GATE Exam and also continue to go for higher studies. Some of the students even appear for government jobs too.
College Events
The campus is pretty good. The annual tech fest AAROHAN which is held in even semester conducted probably in the month of February. It is the second-largest fest in the eastern India. Many students from different colleges participate in this fest. We have LIBRARY located inside the campus with huge number of books and access to many online journals. There are many facilities done for all Sports and required equipment is provided. And we also have yoga classes on the campus.There are many clubs run by the students, mainly SAE, IEEE, CCA, PRAKRITHI etc. functioning and doing social and technical activates in the campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The average semester fee is 70,000 for student with family income above 6 lakhs. There are lot of scholarships availed by students corresponding to the reservation and merit bases.And we find many banks inside the campus that gives loans for tuition fee.Campus provides many good internships like Microsoft, TATA, Amazon, JPMC etc. And has a good placement percentage with good LPA.
Campus Life
The campus is good in its infrastructure and all the labs, classrooms and library are having at its best. The campus has wi-fi facility. The library has large halls to study. The labs have new equipment. Sports too have all the facilities.
Hostel Facilities
Some hostels are very good and some of them are old so don't have modern facilities. The hostel fee is around 12,000 and the food is good. The primary facilities are good such as drinking water and other sanitization.
Admission
For the admission into the college we need to qualify in JEE Mains and needs to gain a good rank. we need to go through certificate verification procedure.
