Remarks
The authenticity in education in NIT Durgapur has its name high. I read lots of good reviws about the University, especially about Mechanical Department. I have inquired a few people personally to know about the college and decided to go for it. Admission happened through JOSAA counseling. Unfortunately everything went online due to pandemic outbreak.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty for Mechanical Department are very impressive. Most of them are PhD holders, a fer have multiple doctorates too. The reputation of department in the university has been very great. We nearly have 1:12 teacher student ratio. Each of the faculties put in lots of efforts to reach out to each one of us. The whole learning experience from the faculties was great. Exams were held as scheduled by the university. A few class tests were also held for better understanding of concepts. The level of exams was always challenging and we were required to have thorough understanding of the concepts to tackle it easily. I learnt lots of things appearing in exams.
Internships Opportunities
I am currently in 3rd semester and i have not opted for any kind of internship yet. We have lots of offers of internships in the 3rd year of the engineering and most of the students opt for it. I would work my best to do an internship in m 3rd year
Placement Experience
There are excellent placements in all departments of the university through campus recruitments. Many have grabbbed multiple jobs. The average package is about 5 to 7 lac per annum. The highest package would be around 25lac per annum. I would like to go for higher education after graduating from NIT Durgapur.
College Events
We have number of excellent clubs and working in clubs gave us lot of real life experiences that help us in some part pf life. This helps socializing in any community. We have a tech fest called Aarohan which is organized by the very own clubs of the university. There is Virasat, a cultural event under SPIC MACAY. We have great availability of books. Though its online, we have been made avaliable to lots of e books. We have had co curricular activities like yoga.
Fees and Financial Aid
I pay 69350 per semester and theres no scholarship. I am currently in 3rd semester and theres no such job or internship. There is no stipend from the university as a financial assistant. We have availed for an educational loan for fee payment.
Campus Life
We have wifi all across the university and its very convenient. Library is very huge with all different kinds of books to get educated. We have well equipped labs for all the departments. We have very huge grounds available for every kind of sports.
Hostel Facilities
Yes i have opted for hostel. We have comfortable facilities and different hostels for girls and boys. And different hostels for different years. Meals and mess are avaliable in every hostel block and the food is nutritional and tasty.
Admission
No, there was no GD for admission. It was all online through chanakya portal of nit durgapur that the admission has happened and i have been enrolled in the course.
