It is ranked among top 10 NITs in India. Got the branch of my interest. The professors are good. Though the overall college is great, zone culture still exist, however it depends on one's own choice to be in the zone or not.The resources i considered while choosing this college included youtube channels like Yash Garg, Adarsh Barnwal, College Suggest and online websites like collegedunia.com, collegeparvesh.com, career360.com.
Course Curriculum Overview
As almost all government colleges, the course curriculum is a bit old and requires upgradation and introduction of newer technologies like AI/ML, Blockchain, etc. Nevertheless, the professors are efficient in teaching their respective subjects. They all are highly qualified, none of them possessing less than one PhD degee. However, faculty to student ratio is 1:90 (for cse department it is 1:199) which is a disadvantage. The mid term and end term examination is on time and of moderate difficulty.
Placement Experience
Placements are good for cse branch and fair enough for other branches. Companies like amazon, Microsoft, adobe, Samsung and other big names visits campus for campus placement. Some even give PPOs. Placements commence in the beginning of the final year i.e. the seventh semester in july.
College Events
Campus is big and have 2 grounds- Oval and lords for various sports. Also the sports like badminton, table tennis, etc are also available inside the campus.There are cafes, store, bank inside the campus.There are over 21 clubs and societies in the institute. There is a club for everything and that is awesome about this college.In our institute we have a annual tech fest called Aarohan and annual cultural fest called Recstasy. Aarohan is the second largest tech fest in all of north eastern india.The infrastructure is getting better day by day. Many new buildings are being made with great speed.

Campus Life
There is almost every sport facility available inside the campus like cricket, football, badminton, basketball, table tennis, etc. The wifi speed is fairly good and it comes best in the library. Library is spacious and contains a huge chunk of books to read from. Labs are great and most equipments are easily available.
Admission
No, there is nothing like GD, interview or special written test to take admission in NIT durgapur. One can take admission in this institute on the basis of his/her JEE main percentile(DASA for foreign students).
