NIT Durgapur is an Excellent Engineering College.

I choose NIT Durgapur, Mechanical Engineering Branch because1. According to NIT's Ranking wise it's under Top 7 NIT's, Rank is - 6.2. NIRF Ranking is- 29, it's under Top 30 best Engineering Colleges.3. I wanted to get admission in Mechanical Engineering Branch based Top Engineering College and NIT Durgapur is best well-known college for Mechanical Engineering.4. Infrastructure: 8.6/105. Sports facilities: 8.2/106. College Achievements: 8.5/107. College Fest ( Technical/ Cultural) : 8.8/108. Clubs ( Technical/ Non- Technical): 209. Campus Size: 200 acres10. College Cleanliness: 9/1011. Placement: 8.3/10, around 82% students get's placed from Mechanical Engineering Branch, every year12. Overall: 8.5/10There are 14 hostels in our campus. Two boys hostels are not good because there are no requirementfurnitures but remaining 12 hostels are really wonderful, requirement furnitures are there like Rack, Almiras, Mirror, Desk, Table, Chair, Bed, Sofa etc. For this above reasons, that's why I preferred NIT Durgapur over others.First I select Branch & Colleges as high to least preference in the choice filling process of JOSAA Counseling on 6th October, 2020. Based on your Rank you get College & Branch. On 19th October, 2020 I have selected for NIT Durgapur, Mechanical Engineering Branch in 1st round of JOSAA Counseling. It's my first preference that's why it's locked then I waiting for the last round and then I admitted on 25th November, 2020.I used College dunia & Siksha blogs, forum and websites while selecting this Colleges.

I choose NIT Durgapur, Mechanical Engineering Branch because I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer in future so NIT Durgapur is best well-known college for B.E./ B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering.Mechanical Faculties are very friendly, well behavioural, well mannered, disciplined with students.Students Capacity is 180 & Student Ratio= Boys: Girls= 6:1Semester exams are held time to time in the duration of 6 months and some papers are difficult to pass and some papers are in between moderate and difficult.

There are many Internships opportunities available in our college i.e. Microsoft, Mahindra, SAIL, BHEL, ONGC, TATA Motors etc. with good stipend.Currently I have ofted for BHEL Internship for Industrial Designing and Manufacturing, how Turbines & Compressor works. My Project is related to Industry Machine Designing with the help of CATIA.

In 7th semester students becomes eligible for campus placement.Highest Pacakage: 44 Lacks Per Annum, Microsoft Jobs, 3 students get placed from CSE Branch from NIT Durgapur in 2020.Average Pacakage: 8 - 10 Lacks Per AnnumCompany Visited : Flipkart, Amazon, Intel, TCS Ion, Mahindra, Zindal, TATA Motors, Microsoft etc.Around 82% students gets on campus placement from Mechanical, 85% students gets on campus placement from CSE Branch & 85% students from EE Branch. Overall Branch: 80% - 85% Students gets placed every year from NIT Durgapur.I have a plan after getting my B.E/ B.Tech in ME Degree i.e. If I am not get selected on Campus Placement, then I appeared for GATE Exam to get PSU's Jobs.

Life is heaven in the campus of NIT Durgapur. Campus Size is large enough around 200 acres.There are 20 Clubs( included Technical/ Non-Technical/ Cultural) in NIT Durgapur. Aarohan is the Tech Fest of our college. It's held in April. It is the largest fest among the Eastern India. Rectasy is the Annual or Cultural fest of our college.Good available of books and journals in our Library i.e. related to current or old, everything is available.Sports Facilities are very good like NIT Durgapur organised hostel tournaments and Branch wise tournaments of Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Chess etc. It's held in May. If you performed well in this college tournments, you have a lot of chances to select in NIT Durgapur team i.e. the chance to represent our college in the Inter-NIT's or IIT'S tournaments.

Fee Structure is excellent in NIT Durgapur. Fee Structure and Scholarships available for different domains or categories are as follows:1. For General 1: 1,40,000 INR per annum (whose family income greater than 5 Lacks per annum)For General 2: 70,000 INR per annum(whose family income less than 5 Lacks per annum) 2. Sports Facilities are awesome in NIT Durgapur. There are many scope for sports to complete with other NIT's, IIT's in Outdoor as well as Indoor Games like Cricker, Football, Badminton, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Chess etc. There are many many coaches to train and select some of the students to play with amongst Inter-NIT's IIT's tournaments. Most of selection is going through when you play continuously good in hostel tournaments in your campus.Wi-Fi availability is moderate around the campus & hostels.Library size are very large enough, one large Central Library is there.Lab's Equipment are very good working because it's changes reguarly per year.

I opted for hostel; all hostels facilities are good like one big rack locking drawyer & one Almira for each students, maximum 3 students in a room, the room is large enough, bed is also comfortable and hostel corridors are very large but very few hostels like 2 boys hostels are not good enough but it's good enough soon because facilities to be added to those 2 hostels. After admission, a form fill up and payment required for registration process of hostel.Rent: 30,000 Per annum.Meal quality and quantity are very good. Menu: Breakfast: Idli, Bread Butter, Egg, Banana.Lunch: Rice, Chicken Kasa, Paneer, Fish, Mixed Vegetables.Dinner: Roti & Mixed Vegetables.

For admission in NIT Durgapur, the below points to be followed:1. Crack the JEE Main with good percentile & Rank.2. Minimum 75% is required in Class 12 board exam with PCM subjects.3. Based on your Rank, you choose your branch for admission in NIT Durgapur.There is no Group Discussion or Interview Rounds. There is only a MCQ test of 300 marks of 75 questions in JEE Main.
