Remarks
There are a list of reasons which made me choose this university. It was one of the few prestigious institutions which was at a close proximity to the city I reside in. Secondly, its fees were a lot more affordable in comparison to the other institutions in the country. Furthermore, this was one of the few colleges where I was getting a circuital branch, and this too was one of the driving factors.During the counselling process I came across a lot of blogs related to admissions and college reviews, few of which include sites such as, Collegedunia, CollegePravesh, Shiksha, and Careers360. The information mentioned on these websites made the admission process seamless and hassle free.To highlight the negative aspect of this institution, I'd say, the quality of hostels, as I have seen from the pictures available on the internet can certainly be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reason why I chose Electrical Engineering is because, this was the best possible branch that was possible to get with my rank, and it was also a branch that I did have a slight interest in. Electrical Engineering also opens a lot of doors to interdisciplinary subjects and areas of concentrations relating to the software domain. Furthermore, the research opportunities after Electrical Engineering were also attractive. These were the few reasons why I chose Electrical Engineering. The faculty to student ratio stands at around 102:6 or 51:3 for a single semester. The exams were timely, and the examinations were a lot more difficult in comparison to the standard exams owing to the online scheme of examinations.
Internships Opportunities
As I am in my second year, I have not opted for any internships yet. I have a lot to learn, will probably apply in my second year.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for internships and PPOs from their third year, and for campus placements from the fourth year. A diverse range of companies visit our campus, some of them include the likes of Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Amazon and Tata Steel, to name a few. The highest package that was offered this year at our college was 44 lakh per annum, while the median hovers around 8 lakhs per annum.
College Events
The life at campus has great. Although the first year, has been completely online, our seniors introduced the freshers to a great number of clubs and societies of which we can be a part of, such as the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Society of Automotive Engineers, Recursion and a lot more. Fests and other events such as Aarohan, E-SUMMIT, Recstasy, and TEDx, are conducted in our institution. Sports facilities are also available, few of them being, badminton, basketball and football.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have no problem with the fee structure allotted. I feel the fees are extremely affordable and did not really feel the need to apply for scholarships and other financial assistance schemes. Our institution is a lot more affordable than a majority of other institutions within the country, and it was one of the major reasons which led me to choose this college.
Campus Life
The infrastructure at our college has been improved to a great extent. The quality of labs are in a decent condition. Recently the college revamped the auditorium and it looks spectacular. One can find all the necessary books in the college library. The sport facilities are also satisfactory.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel have been renovated and are in a better condition in comparison to the ones that were available a few years ago. The food is hygienic and satisfactory. The rooms in our hostels have all the basic amenities a student requires barring a washroom. There are common washrooms for all the students. Our college is completely residential.
Admission
The entrance to our institution is primarily done on the basis of our ranks in the JEE (MAIN) examinations, post which students which clear the cutoff for JEE (MAIN) are allowed to sit for the JOSAA counselling.
