Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our college has its own curriculum, which I find highly relevant and comprehensive, rating it 8/10. It's designed by skilled professionals within our institution. They incorporate additional technology-related activities, aiding students in their further education. We have two semesters annually, each with one midterm exam, which is manageable if we attend lectures regularly and stay on top of our work.During the initial two semesters, our college integrates labs related to all branches of study. Only a handful of colleges offer the option to change branches, with NIT Durgapur being one of them. This opportunity, available in the first year, can greatly assist students in transitioning to their desired branch of study.

Placement Experience

4

After completing the 5th semester, students become eligible for campus placements, which are conducted at the Career Development Center within the campus premises. The placement percentages have been consistently high, with rates of 98.88% in 2020, 88.3% in 2022, and 95.97% in 2023. Major recruiters include TCS, IBM, Google, Infosys, Adobe, and Amazon. The median salary packages for undergraduate (UG) four-year degrees were 6.4 lakhs in 2020, 7.98 lakhs in 2021, and 6.8 lakhs in 2022. While many students opt for placements, some may also choose to pursue higher studies such as MTech or MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees for our college are uniform across all branches and years, set at 62,500 INR per semester and 5 lakhs for the entire duration of the graduation program. For the first semester, the total fee amounts to approximately 1,15,000 INR, while for subsequent semesters, it is around 83,000 INR. This fee encompasses hostel charges of 7,000 INR, mess fee of 20,000 INR, and other fees such as medical, library, and computer fees. Students have the option to avail education loans, as they are readily available here. While there are no part-time job opportunities for students within the campus, the college offers scholarships based on merit and also provides reservation-based scholarships.some of the scholarships are all India national scholarship and vivekanand scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus experience at our college is quite remarkable. Despite not being very large, it boasts excellent infrastructure. We have three types of auditoriums, two outdoor playgrounds, and an indoor stadium known as SAC auditorium. Our campus features a serene duck pond, particularly enjoyable in the evenings. One of the highlights is our expansive library, housing over one lakh books and offering high-speed WiFi. The library operates from 5 am to 10 pm, accommodating diverse study schedules. In addition to academic pursuits, our college hosts various sports events like Inter NIT tournaments, Hit Hall tournaments, and inter-branch tournaments. There are also eSports tournaments. Moreover, our college nurtures a vibrant club culture, including technical clubs like GLUG, RECurrison, Math and Tech, CCA, SAE, IEEE, ISTE, and cultural clubs like Strokes, Dance, Music, and Prakrit. Throughout the academic year, students eagerly anticipate FESTS such as E-SUMMIT, AAROHAN, AAVISHKAR, and RE

Hostel Facilities

3.5

In the initial two years, male students are assigned to either Hall 11 or 14, while female students reside in Hall 10, and international students are accommodated in Hall 12. The first-year hostels are well-furnished with good infrastructure, but the quality diminishes in subsequent years. Three students share a room for the first three years, while in the fourth year, each student gets a single room. Room amenities include three tables, lamp lights, lockers, two fans, and three cots without mattresses. Recreational facilities include badminton and table tennis courts, as well as chess and carrom boards. However, the quality of the mess food is subpar, with the same weekly menu throughout the semester, making it challenging for students from South India to adjust. Fortunately, there are various nearby restaurants like DFC and Wondercafe. First-year students have restrictions and are not allowed to leave the campus premises.

Admission

.First you should have atleast 75% in your board exam. .To get admission to our college , students have to clear the JEE Main exam, meet eligibility requirements, and complete the counselling process. .Based on the cutoff, we are eligible for admission to our college. The application fee for JEE mains is 1000 INR for OC, 800 INR for OBC, and 500 INR for SC/ST categories. .The JEE Mains exam is conducted twice a year. You can find the exam dates and application details on the JOSSA website. So essentially, JEE Mains requires a strong foundation in our basics. If we excel at problem-solving, the difficulty level feels average, in my opinion.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
