- Availablity of good transportation and communication system in and out of campus.
- Shopping complex available in close proximity, suited for both rich and poor students.
- Good and healthy environment for academics, no ragging.
Dislikes
- Not much scope for other sports activities for now.
- Teaching methods of some teachers are very traditional despite of availablity of good infrastructure and equipments.
- Marking scheme and examinations conducted here are very tough to crack good marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
Electronics engineering is one of the top branch in NIT Durgapur. I always have passion for electrical and electronics equipment, apart from flexible curriculum paving way to enhance other domains. NIT Durgapur has well equipped laboratory and specialised separate building for ECE department. In first year itself, one can understand the variation of curriculum of each department, were ECE is a good start. Teaching Methods are flexible for teachers, for which they can opt for hybrid(classic blackboard and digital classroom), but some teachers don't use that.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees No such hikes are present while educationally backward students can avail fee weaver scheme, where: 1/3 Rd of tution fees for income group of (1-5 lakh), no tution fees for income group of less than 1lakh. Complete cost of education is 692700+ additional mess charges. Only fee weaver is available, but students can readily obtained permission and support for other financial aid outside campus Being first year, I don't have undertaken any campus employment intership.
Campus Life
Aarohan- The annual tech fest of NIT Durgapur Rectasy- The annual cultural fest of NIT Durgapur. NIT Library- Central library has limited assess to general people but open for students, teachers and other staff members. Consists large variety of books and digital library(pearson online). Technological provision within class and other buildings are well equipped with wifi, blackboard, lifts, Central ACs, projectors,etc. Sports life here is limited now, but day by day quality is increasing as inter-NIT football match was held here.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities: Well equipped rooms with proper lighting in and outside room, good wifi, 24*7 water and electricity service, lift service for everyone, special bathroom for PH students. Meal quality is satisfactory, affordable and flexible to demands of students. Food available for non veg(4 times a week) in 1st year. Registration Process for Hostel & Affordability Rules and regulations are separate from academic section of college. Little clumsy some but manageable. One has to check college site to obtain required steps for hostel(rules change every year).
Admission
Eligibility of the Course 1. Should pass from well recognised board with minimum of 75 percentage of top 20 percentile. 2.Should secure decent rank in JEE Mains. Registration process For B.Tech, no direct entry Can admit through JOSAA, CSAB or DASA. Reservation policy 1/4 th seat approximately for female Seats for GEN EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PH. Jee mains is very difficult exam, but not compared to the UPSC or Jee Advanced. Occurs two times for one attempt in a year January (last week) and April (first week). Admission process is bit tendinous and not punctual, which can be improved.
