Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is comprehensive, and the syllabus is in accordance to competitive exams like GATE. Moreover, some of the subjects and labworks help in holistic development of the student in that discipline.

Internships Opportunities

5

Many software companies like Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Samsung, Salesforce, Trilogy, Swiss, ZS, JP Morgan and Chase etc. come here to recruit summer interns. Moreover, being a student of top-tier NIT Durgapur, it becomes easier to avail research internships at IITs as well.

Placement Experience

4

For On Campus Internships, a handful of companies come in the 4th-5th sem break. Companies start to come for internships from 5th semester onwards. Upto 6th semester, companies come for internships and there is an opportunity for the intern students to get a PPO. Apart from that, from 7th semester onwards primarily, on campus placements start and different companies and recruiters reach to the CDC and hire students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee is okay, not too high like private colleges, it is decent being a top-tier institution, Scholarships can be availed y student based on his her economic background or etxraordinary academic performance, which can be used to curtail down the fee.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is worth it. From clubs, zones, friend circles to fests like Aarohan (Mar), Recstacy (1st week of April), and smaller ones like Virasat, Verve, E-Summit, Wavecraze etc. college life is something that freshers cant even dream of at the beginning. The memories in these events stay forever! Sports like cricket, football etc. as well as indoor ones like chess etc. are played here. We have our college teams of respective games representing our college and earning prizes.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are okay. The rooms are fine. Maintenance is good. There are about 14 halls. Registration process is also smooth just keep all the documents. Mess food is average. Overall mess and hostel stay can be improved in the long run.

Admission

The admission is done through JOSAA/CSAB Counselling based on the JEE Main ranks. I appeared for JEE Mains 2021 and based on the rank I got, i.e, 13519, got allotted to a seat in ECE Dept. of NIT DGP. There is a provision of home state quota, so for NIT DGP, 50% seats can be availed by students residing in West Bengal. The counselling takes 5-6 rounds and then by 1 month the seat is finalized, followed by registration at the desired college displayed in the final counselling. If you are dissatisfied with the final outcome of JOSAA, you can opt for 2 extra rounds of counselling under CSAB.

Faculty

4

Faculties are very experienced, highly dignified. Most of them teach well and are student-friendly. Moreover, for doubt clearance, they are easily available in the cabin during their leisure time in the campus.

Interview Experience

5

No we didnt face as such, because we joined during Covid19 time and the admission happened just after the registration which was linked up with the college displayed in JOSAA/CSAB counselling. For interviews, you need to be smart and confident facing the interviewer if it happens.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
