Beautiful chapter of everyone's life - college life

For each year we have 2 semesters. And we have grade points and CGPA out of 10. Each semester we have 5 subjects but in 6th semester we have 6 subjects. Along with the core subjects we also have open electives which we get based on our CGPA and what we have opted for in a Google form which is given before the starting of semester. We have 3 labs per week. And before semester exams we have viva and lab practicals.

It is compulsory the we have to do internship after 3rd yr in summer holidays. Companies visit our college and give us internship opportunities by taking the written exam and interviews. According to the internship opportunity the companies also provide pre placement offers. I also got internship in Texas Instruments as Digital Design Engineer in DFT team. My stipend is 60000/month in banglore. The internship duration is 2 months. After internships we should go back to college to start final year.

Placements were quite good in Nit Durgapur. But due to recession in 2024 we got less placements. The highest package is 50lpa in Microsoft. And the average package is 7lpa or sometimes 10lpa. The statistics of placements vary every year. We get companies like microsoft, amazon, Texas Instruments, hero, Amadocs and also PSU 's like Beml, BPCL, Hcl, etc.

In Nit Durgapur college we have to pay semester fee. In a year we have 2 semesters. The semester fee varies for each semester. But the fee range is same. According to caste, the fee structure varies. I am an SC student, and my semester fee is like 13,500 ; 11,500 and so on (in this range, but in an increasing manner) We have scholarships like for an year probably 40000. My father is a government teacher so I am not eligible for scholarships. Scholarships are for the family whose annual income is less than 200000.

My overall college experience is good. I have got good friends and enjoyed a lot with them in college and fests. The classroom were big and spacious in our college with air conditioning. We have library facilities everyday, a quite place to study and learn. The infrastructure is very good in Nit Durgapur. We have plenty of clubs like Debsoc, Spic macay, Dance club, Music club, and also societies like ECESS.

We have the hostel facility which is very clean and neat. The bathrooms are also cleaned everyday. We don't have to pay hostel fee but we have to pay mess fee for every semester. And the mess fee is 17,500/semester. As I am a south indian the mess food according to me is average. We have special dinner on every Wednesday which includes fried rice, chicken, puri, custard , cool drink and rasgulla which is very tasty and we have ideal dinner on 3rd Wednesday of every month which is same like special dinner but it also includes Mutton and ice cream. We have egg 3 times a week and chicken 3 times a week.

I got this college in my jee counselling. I had choosen top 10 NIT's in my counselling. According to my rank in jee mains I got this college, in ECE branch. So I have joined there is nothing like I chose this college over some other colleges

There are sufficient faculty for every branch and every section. I am an ECE student our professors are chill and also very talented and passionate about the subject. They helped us a lot in our semester exams and also labs.

For admission there is no written exam or interview. I got admission in Nit Durgapur based on my jee mains rank and counseling. It is more like free admission. I don't think there will be any written exam or interview to get admission in Nit 's. Everyone joins in Nit's and IIT's based on their jee mains rank and counseling

We are free to roam in college, we have coffee shops and canteens. We can also order food from outside. And the college gate closing time is 11:30PM, and the girls hostel have restrictions for their safety so the hostel gate is closed by 10:30PM. Inside campus everything is safe and no need to worry for anything
