It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Likes

Campus life is good and you provided Night canteen and day canteen in every hostel of NIT Rourkela
Well structured campus and department buildings of every branches
Provided medical services inside campus and outside campus both.

Dislikes

Campus is too big to explore, it's around 1200 acers.
Mess food is very poor and unhygienic and quality is too low.
Attendance is 85% and weather is too hot in summer.

Placement Experience:

The Placement is Good in NIT Rourkela, almost 90% student placed every year. from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. top Companies visits campus for Placement is Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Wiprp, Deloitte, etc. In 2023 highest package is 83 lpa, and average package is around 20lpa My plans after getting the degree is became a Good Stand up Comedian.

Because in national institute of technology Rourkela it has 100 Percentage of placement for computer science and engineering so it made to take this decision for come to here and faculty members are good

Brief Review of NIT Rourkela

Likes

Very big campus of 650 acres and full of greenery

Dislikes

85% strict attendance rule makes everyone lazy to attend the class

Placement Experience:

For students in 7th semester the placement opportunities are available. Companies like Amazon,Ericson, Reliance,etc. visit to provide placement. Highest package is 91 lpa as per 2023 and average package is 15 lpa. Approximately 90% of students get placed in different companies on campus. My plan is to get placed in a company providing good salary.

I liked greenary and sports facilities in this nit.
I liked quality of academics in this nit.
I liked my hostel and they provide good food.

Dislikes

I disliked the long journey to be travelled between my hostel and classes
I disliked the high charges imposed for cycle repair.
I disliked the tough correction done by teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mainly interest towards web development and coding and handling machines.Job recruitments are high for software field employees. Quality of education in NIT attracted me to take btech here .Teaching can be improved by putting skilled ones .

Campus - awesome campus to have in your college life!
Safe: most safest NIT. Specially for girls
Anti ragging committee ISDC is there. So no issues of that.

Dislikes

Over power grant to the professors who can do whatever they want
Attendance is 85% which leads to lack of skill development
Hostel rooms as they are quite old and not enough space

the behaviour of professors towards weak students

from 7th semester one will be eligible for placements about 70 percemt of students aree getting placed while majority opt to go for higher studies average package vary as per the department , in mathematics department highest package is 27 lpa whereas lowest is 7lpa i would like to persue hugher education after completion of degree

NIT Rourkela brief review

It's lush green campus of 645 acres which includes sports facilities of all kinds.
Here, anti-ragging is a real policy. Even if someone found to be involved in ragging then he/she will get a semester back or 3 gradebacks depending upon the degree of damage.
If you are pure vegetarian then there is a separate mess for you which can be replace with your original mess.

Dislikes

The weather of Rourkela is pretty extreme so health should be maintained all the time.
Rourkela doesn't have its own airport which affects the incoming opportunities for placement season.
The work pressure is pretty toxic here , you would have to work a lot harder to meet the standards.

Placement Experience:

As Nit Rourkela is an institute of national importance, placements are generally above average here. For the financial year 2023-24, the highest placement was 52.4lpa. Here. many students opt to go for higher studies instead of getting placements.

A short take on NIT Rourkela

Likes

Campus is large and filled with plants and trees
Friends that we make here in the college
Hostels facilities are quite decent and large enough

Dislikes

Attendance and academic policies are a bit hectic
Mess food offered in hostels is not that good
The location of the campus is remote resulting in withdrawal of some companies

Placement Experience:

Students are allowed for placements from 7th semester. Average package is 15lpa and highest package is 55lpa. Big companies do come for placement and almost has a 100 percent placement record for some branches. Companies such as microsoft, flipkart, ZS, accenture, TATA, shell, deloitte, intel, qualcomm, etc visit for placements.

Nit Rourkela at a glance

Likes

The campus life is the one I really liked.
Hostel life is also very good with different facilities like gym, badminton court,etc.
The professors are really good here and they teach to the point and precisely.

Dislikes

The size of room is very small for two people
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
The location of the institute is a very remote one.

NIT Rourkela

Likes

The quality of food is top class, they provide very healthy food and also tasty food.
Sports facilities are very good it really helped me to up my cricket and badminton skills.
The clubs here do a great job of making the students involved in different activities.

Dislikes

I think the government should have planted the trees that bear fruits in the campus... The trees here in campus are non fruiting.
The audio system of the class could be improved.
The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. It should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Firstly I love Engineering and it's a great scope in the modern world. Engineering is the true building blocks of world. The Institution is great if you want to learn and explore different things... It gives exposure to a lot of Corricular and Extra Corricular Activities. Although it's a great Institution but certain things need to be changed like the audio system and class timings. The exams are conducted per quarter of a year, and the course is quite easy and as per the taught syllabus.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
