It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Smart work

Likes

Campuse is very very good. And the environmental conditions also
Transportation in this city is so nice. And airport bus trains are there.
The cultural fests and technical fest are very very good.

Dislikes

The faculties approaches to teach students is very poor.
The college should give attention to the sports section.
They should provide uniform to the students.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement students can join from 5 th sem. Companies visited are Microsoft , Barclays , Tata etc. Highest package is 50-60 lpa and average is 12 lpa. Upto 90 percentage Students get placed . After degree we will start a startup.

Feelings of a student of Nit Rourkela

Likes

I liked the swimming pool the most here which is a Olympic size pool
The library here provides a large variety of books and studying facility
The senior junior interaction is one of the most best thing they help a lot

Dislikes

The same old engineering curriculum which is followed
The large campus of nit Rourkela we have cycle everywhere we want to go
The eighty five percent attendance policy I hate the most

I chose computer science because of my own personal interest and since my college provides one of the best infrastructure in India that's why I chose the university Although the curriculum is same other engineering colleges of the country but still the faculties and facilities are good enough

National Institute of Technology [NIT] , Rourkela

Likes

The campus is huge in itself and exploring as well as cycling in it is feels good.
Fests are one of the most enjoyable events and are also charming.
Sports facilities along with street food are to die for.

Dislikes

Mess food feels good for a time but feels out of taste for most.
Hostel rooms are quite clungy and are not so comfortable.
Sleeping habits do get really messed up after long hours of classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is a little hard but one can easily sail through it by knowing the right way like how to approach and solve questions,etc. It provides about a gross idea of how things really work in real life and it feels good about knowing all sorts of things. The course curriculum is rather very rigorous so studying it requires some time in 1st year but I know one can do it. The exams are not so difficult.Once you have grasped how to really tackle time management and studying,one can easily pass it.

NIT Rourkela is love

Likes

The campus area and the University infrastructure is impressive.
In our college all the members are friendly and help in all sectors.
Placement process is better and give all the students to get placement in companies.

Dislikes

The education system is old, it should improve to latest one.
The notes which provided by professor should be improved and clear.
In our college we have zero ragging policy but little ragging should be there for better attachments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This college have 100% placement ratio. And the branch I choose that was the toppest branch in this college. CSE branch is all about technology and I love to have this branch. I am gamer and coder too, so I prefer to go with computer science branch. The college gives us many opportunities with technology. Our technology part is helping to take participate in worldwide company. The branch I choose is best but the education system is not that latest. The exam is like our board exam and security is hard .

Internet facilities are very good and fast
Hostel life is really very enjoyable for me
Each and everything is present in campus

Dislikes

Smoking and alcohol is very common among students
City is not that great minimum number of good places you can visit
Hostel rooms are very small but overall a good experience

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester students are eligible for campus placements. Placements in national level colleges are great. You get good opportunities A lot of companies come to hire cream of the engineers of the country

It's have huge campus which gives a connection between students and nature.
Also I like the club and fest of the college.
Also I like the mess food and hostel facility.

Dislikes

The interaction between students and professors should be increased
The sports facilities are also decent and their need changes.
Also collage Don not provide any kind of accessories for course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I like to sketch and painting and architecture is course which provides opportunities to you to imagine.The faculty and students ratio is pretty good here and the faculties are also highly qualified from known institute.

I liked the campus most this infrastructure is very satisfying.
I liked the club's run by students that clubs are very helpfull in anhancing quality of students
I liked the cultural fest the management by students etc.

Dislikes

I disliked the teaching quality of faculties.
I disliked the sports management, they should give attention in this field.
I disliked the attendance side because it is 85 perceent compulsory.

Placement Experience:

I think from 5th sem students are eligible. Barclays, Tata, govt.companies, Microsoft and many more. Highest package I think 50-60lpa and average 12-13lpa. I think 80-90 percent students getting placements. My plan to do a startup.

A brief review of NIT Rourkela

Likes

Campus Life, club culture and the festivals
Sports and games facilities inside hostels and also in stadiums
Infrastructure for different courses and opportunities

Dislikes

Old teaching curriculum and hectic schedule
85 percentage attendance policy for classes
There is not a big coding culture in my college

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario at NIT Rourkela is very good. It has an average placement package of 12 lakh 95 thousand. College also provides on campus internships. Highest package for my branch last year was around 44lakhs and average was 18lakhs.

Campus is really very beautiful and greenary all around
Buildings and infrastructure is really great
Faculties are Highly educated and graduated from top colleges

Dislikes

Exams are always just 1 week after fest that is very hectic
Nitrkl have 85 percent attendance policy
Morning classes is from 8 am ...which is very problematic

Placement Experience:

Nitrkl provides 100 percent placement to there students and it is very good record in all other nits .... Average package is 11-12 lpa ... For chemical engineering...and highest can be 25-30lpa approx

Things to consider before coming to NITR.

Likes

Various club activities and the scope to improve our interests.
Experienced and cooperative faculty along with exam culture.
Easy accessibility to various public amenities.

Dislikes

Improper hygiene in the hostels at some places.
Regular power cut in the hostels during exams.
Distance of the hostel areas from the academic region.

Placement Experience:

1. Students become eligible fpr campus placements from 7th semester. 2. Companies like Tata, SAIL, ONGC,BPCL, IOCL, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes, Audi, etc, visit the college regularly. 3. Highest package offered is 83 LPA, Average is 13-14 LPA. 4. More than 95% of the students get placed. 4. My plan is to get into the core PSUs after getting the degree.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
