It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Life as a NIT student

Likes

I loved the campus, its green and peaceful
The clubs are very engaging and recreational
The fests are very different and enthusiastic.

Dislikes

Food and hygiene, sometimes its not at all maintained
Academic pressure is unreal. You are on a complete marathon every day
The city it is situated in doesn’t have much to do with roaming around without the campus itself

Placement Experience:

I am still in my 2nd year so i have least experience about this things. So I can't tell much about it. But as fas as it concerns, many companies to approach the students by conducting OT's and stuff like that

Placement Experience:

Our campus placement is very good. Very good companies come here. And if I don't get campus placement then I will open my own cement company. Students get prepared in 7th semester. To get placement, students do internship in the fifth semester.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Amazon, Microsoft, Qualcomm etc. and many more companies offer a higher salary job. The highest package was 70 lacs last year. average is 10 lacs. Almost 70% student gets placed. My plan is to do higher studies after my graduation.

The campus here is very green and beautiful.
This college is very close to my home as compared to other Nits.
The placement of the college is very good as compared to other engineering colleges

Dislikes

The facilities are old and are not friendly with student and have poor communications.
The girls to boys ratio is not good. It's 1:5
The college student has made zone groups which consist of their own states student and considers then first for any benefit rather than considering the deserved one.

From 7th semester, we are eligible for placement. Almost all the big tech companies offer jobs here. No of offers depends on the situation as after COVID it has been decreased. Highest package is around 60lakh on campus. Almost every student get the placement if opted.

I like campus enjoyment and clean and neat area

Everything is fine but some students so depressed o. Study

In 6th semester students get elegible for placements so many companies are visited in our Campus like Qualcomm, HCl, Flipkart, Amazon, Samsung, etc..... and in our Campus the highest package 163 LPA in software team and average package is 24 LPA and have 100% placements and my plan have to get 32 lpa package

I am studing in nit roukela electrical engineering this branch is little bit tough the mid sem paper little bit easy and the end sem is very defficult the lechater are highly qualified lechature their 2 simple test before the exam of mid sem and end sem

Club culture is too good.More than 70 clubs are there with 40+ active .
Sports facilities are superb.Faculties are supportive.
Big campus and ample of amenities.The hostels are also good

Dislikes

The faculty can be better also the faculty student ratio should be improved.
There aren't many areas to visit outside the campus
The quality of the events can be improved.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our campus are above average with average package of 12 lakh,20+companies are visited and the percentage of students being placed is quite unknown.the highest and lowest are still unknown.I will try to get a campus placement after degree.

The campus is big enough for a cycling at night
Our Branch faculties are really good in teaching and helping students
The students get many opertunities to improve themselves

Dislikes

The placements are good but not enough .
The hostels are old and 2 students in one room is conjusted
The mess food is not good as we ate in home.

Many companies are coming to this collage for placements. the average package is 7.5 lpa. If the student doesnot want to be placed he/she can go for the higher studies. and also can apply for different competetive exams.

Overall NIT life is pretty much cool

Environment, campus and the study styles
Our faculty is really nice, it is called the royal department afterall
I like the freshness here and also the greenness

Dislikes

The food for sure.. As a bangali I prefer more spices
The weather is weird . Sometimes it is really cold and sometimes it’s really hot
Some professors aren’t supportive for this we face difficulties

A lush green campus NIT RKL

I like the campus and hostel Life a lush green campus.
There are some best faculty who give right suggestions.
Facilities that are providing like gym in each hostel a central gym and swimming pool are also there

Dislikes

Academic pressure are there that are tough to handle
85% attendance are compulsory you have to attend from morning to evening classes. if attence are sort you suffer from grade back or debar
Some faculty are there for only cut the marks award less grade

I like to work in core, it's by my choise not rank. I love to do welding cutting using machine. In our batch the total strength are 117 in mechanical branch. All the facilities are very intrective, there teaching are mind blowing. Mid sem and end are quite tough to pass to score good marks you need study on daily basis.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
