It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Campus is very cleaned and pollution free.
Placements are very good at NIT Rourkela.
The food quality at mess is very good and menu also good.

Dislikes

The market around NIT Rourkela is very bad.
Weather condition at NIT Rourkela is not as much as good.
Placements of lower branch is low it should be more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have interested in biology and wanted to research so I optain this course. Ratio is 1:5. faclty have done there pdh and Research from top IITs and IISc bangalore some of them have done their research from foreign. Exams are conducted at time no difficult face for pass.

Life of a girl at NITR

Likes

Far away from home , place to discover myself
In out timings are 12 am with no restrictions even after
Good beautiful lush green campus and good friends

Dislikes

Bad exam and cgpa patterns with 85% attendance
Not nice food and 50% home state garbage
Its not ok to be non oriya here less opportunity

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from 6th sem for placements as such and no backlog is appreciated with decent skill and cgpa , all placements are mostly in software analytics and consulting with web development and coding needs

NIT Rourkela: Lush of Odisha

Likes

Infrastructre of college is too good. Each department consist of excellent labs.
Beauty of campush is too good, Each corner of campus has nature vibe.
Library of college is outstanding.It is fun to attend library on daily basis.

Dislikes

Whether of rourkela is not good. There is too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
Fest's quality is not that much good, it can be improved,
Attendence criteria is too strict.It is 85% for NIT Rourkela which is really huge

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester student is allowed to participate in campus placements. Almost every kind of Indian and foreign company (including companies like Google and Microsoft) visits the campus. The highest package of this year was 80LPA on campus and 1.8 CPA off campus. It was around 12LPA on average. Almost 90+ per cent of students use to place. I plan to do a job after my degree.

Review of Nit Rourkela

Likes

The campus is lush green, very large and quite peaceful
People are very nice and friendly and mind there own bussiness
being an nit it has it's benefits of placements

Dislikes

It feels like a solitary confinement sometimes.
There's odia supremacy in the college and they control much
The students don't have any dressing sense they should look good

Course Curriculum Overview:

i just took the course as destiny said. the number of faculties are 10 and there are 75 students in the classroom.The teaching method is very interactive and faculties are qualified from iit's. They have very good experience.the term exams are 4 months and they are quite easy

My View of NITR

Likes

Good and lush green campus very hygienic
The availability of both the veg and non veg food
And also the non ragging campus is there

Dislikes

Its locatoion is very far from the main city
Other thing is not there like it is good bit
Its small size room for the freshers with 1 table for both

From the end of third year student gets eligible for campus placements. There are many companies like big MNCs as Microsoft, Google, amazon, Barclay's, accentuate, and flipkart, etc For circuital it is almost ????

NITR, a world within itself

Likes

I liked almost everything that NITR had to offer. Everything but the food. I liked the huge, peaceful campus. The diverse group of friends I made. The amazing fests. The hackathons. The club culture.
Seniors are very helpful, they'll help you with any and everything you need. Just be respectful and bam, now you have good seniors.
The view of the mountains around the campus that you get from the hostel terrace is just amazing

Dislikes

The food in general lacked spice. I lost around 16 kgs in the first sem only.
The grading was very hard for some reason. Getting a good CG is actually hard and requires consistent efforts.
The summers are ruthless. Doing anything seems impossible with air conditioning.

Placement Experience:

Placements are pretty good. All the branches perform excellent in that matter. The average is around 20lpa for cs, 17-18 for Circuital branches, 14lpa for my branch i.e Industrial Design and around 11-12 lpa for the rest. The students go for software, consultancy , data analytics and core jobs. Visa, MasterCard, Microsoft... they all visit our campus... 100% of the students get placed. After getting my degree I'm hoping to work as a product designer for a few years and then I'll think about masters.

Campus LIfe in the college is very Good and top class
Infrastructure in the campus is high standards

Dislikes

The 85% attendance policy in the college is bit hectic for most of the students

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semesters will be eligible for sittiong in placements and before starting of placement season there will be a dedicated commite formed to help the students during the placement journey there are diffrent types of companies like GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, AMAZON, ...etc from sofware/IT sector and Texas Instruments Qualcom Nivida Samsung Micron from Hardware sector and Deloite Phonepay Visa ,,etc from Analytics sector

awesome college life helping to get exposure in all the required fields.
infrastructure of the college including the hostels is just awesome.
no ragging is allowed and good care is taken on a students mental picture.

very low no. of classes are allowed for 1st sem.

Campus is very green, it feels calm and peaceful

There is really nothing much to do in this city.
smmer time is just too hot here. (40+ temperature)
I didnt like the taste of food anywhere in this city

Placement Experience:

from the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Renowned companies like Microsoft, Google, Qualcomm, and Mediatek come every year along with companies like Bajaj and Tata and many others. I dont have the exact numbers but the placements percentage is very good here

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
