It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Infrastructure which is very mesmerizing, and tge mainatainance
Faculty is NIT Rourkela have vast knowledge in the subject and their research works are so helpful
The medical facility they provide is very reasonable which lack in some of the institutes

Dislikes

Placement oppurtunities lack in our institute
Course structure is not very well planned
Every hostel is not provided with equal facilities. So that if anything which is available in our hostel we have to go for other hostels

Placement Experience:

As like other institutions we have campus placements, but comparatively less may be due to transport service to Rourkela. We have placement committee that brings different companiesband guide during the placement season.

About Our NIT Rourkela

The placements are very good here, I didn't expected this placements here.
I am enjoying my college life here. The most I like are fests and chilling out with my friends and all.
I liked the college much. It is full of trees and greenery. I liked the infrastructure well.

Dislikes

Our college is about 650 acres. So we need to walk long distances from hostel to classroom
I didn't liked the food. Sometimes the food is not hygiene. But sometimes it is good.
I have interest in Computer Sciences so I am somewhat not interested in my course.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester, the companies will come for campus placements and the companies will give some Eligibilty criterion for CGPA, depending on CGPA we need to apply for placements. Main companies are Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Decimal Point, Oracle, Fastenal, etc. In our course, out of 70 students 56 students are placed till now. The highest package offered is 34 LPA by Oracle and the average package will be around 12 LPA. Both Software and core profiles will get this offers. In our course there is 100% placement rate according to 2023 reports. If I get a good placement, I'll go otherwise I have to go to higher studies

Peace campus life and no strict restrictions and pressure on studemts

Dislikes

We have to adjust for food actually it depends on the region you come from

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good and it is improving day be day. Faculty teaches well and also recommends reference books to learn and explore more..they actually helps and support in every aspect. They also conduct class tests to boost our preparation and the level of mid and end exams are upto level..like student can write well if they have preparation somehow.

Holistic NIT ROURKELA review

Campus life is awesome. We got a pretty huge campus to roam around.
The faculty is best here.We got to learn many new things from them.
Club culture is fantastic.we learned to communicate in clubs and many more

Dislikes

Campus food is not that much good here.So we eat more oustide the campus

Placement Experience:

4th year students are eligible for placements. companies like Microsoft,oracle etc with 1326 job offers. Highest is 52 lpa, average is 15lpa. More than 97% of batch got placed.Most people are placed now.

Life at NIT Rourkela

Infrastructure: college infrastrucute is too good, when you enter college all you is greenary. The garderning game is on point.The labs are very spacious
Social life: You will get to meet all kind of people here.You will improve your communication skills so much.you will get to learn diiferent cultures
Sports : the campus provides extensive high class sport facilities

Dislikes

Hostel Food: food is not that great. the food looks and tastes cheap and quality is so bad

Placement Experience:

NIT Rourkela has good placements record,ensuring excellent career opportunities for its students. Students typically became eligible for campus placements from the end of 6 the semester of their UG program .this allows us to acquire knowledge and skills before entering the job market . company visited: oracle . microsoft , texas, qualcomm, bajaj, BNY mellon, ZS, american express,visa and so many more . the highest of them all is orcale with package of 34 lpa . NIT rourkela has placment percentage of 85 to 95% . but this year is a little less due to recession. My plan is to get a placment form campus placements.

A beautiful campus

Big campus , placement cell , hostel facility
Course fee, faculty student ratio, library availablity,
Internship opportunities, financial assistance to needy people ,schlorship to merit students.

Dislikes

Admission process , examination rules , unavailable of books
Lengthy lectures, gym facilities not available in all hostels
Extracurricular activities were mandatory instead of choice

Placement Experience:

During 7th semester everyone eligible for placement on campus or off campus as well Google, Microsoft, Amazon, filpkart, I heard that during my times it was 39 offers More than 90. % students does get placed if there are just follow the flow My plan is to do PhD

Far but beautiful

Good club culture. Almost every field there is club. You didn't find you lone passionate
Sports facilities are very good there are 2 big and many small ground for almost every sports and every hostel also have some courts for sports
College infrastructure is very good its very spacious and college is away from main city which make peaceful environment here

Dislikes

It has very regirous attendance policy of 85 percentage
Absolute grading makes very difficult to get good CGPA
Rourkela city is not well connected to other cities we have to change trains to came here

Placement Experience:

Around 380 companies came for placement in year 2023 Student of 7 semester can register for under placement cell Many good companies visited campus such has Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, and many core branch companies also visited such as fractal and they total offered around 1200 jobs. In year 2023 highest package which was offered 53 Lpa and average package is 14.2 Lpa Around 97 percentage students get placed last year. I also want to sit under placement in 7 semester and try to grab good opportunities.

Campus is too much area ie in 12000acre land is there
Faculty are very much friendly and advice also gove

Zonisim not good in our college so i really hage it

Many core Company from our branch like Hindalco,jsw,tata metalsetc amd in software many mnc Company also camelike tcs,pwc,accenturee etc. Nearlyvtill jan 2024 from ourbranch 75 %placed in their core

A journey of NIT Rourkela

Likes

At first college campus is very good with ample amount of trees.
Class rooms are very good with AC system and modern facilities.
The club culture is top notch. Festivals comes regularly.

Dislikes

Gender ratio is very poor in every branch.
Academic help is a little bit tough for accessing.
Mess system is very bad you can't say anything about food.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I get ceramic engineering.Here boy girl ratio is very poor like 3:1 and in other branches it is very much poor.Here academic department is very good.Faculty are also very cooperative.You are assigned a faculty advisor for every problem.Every teacher is good but it depends on you how you respond to your teacher.Yes you can say few are not good.In your class it is difficult to find girl many times. In college there are total 4 exams in a year.With 2 semester in a year,one semester has one midsemester exam.Between one semester there is a vacation. One is called winter vacation and another is summer vacation.Winter is for only one month and summer consists of 2.5 to 3 months. There are also some class tests. Teacher regularly takes this for checking of class improvement. Also it helps for them to give TA marks on basis of class tests performance.Class rooms are very good for studying. But one more thing that there I misconception that you no need yo study in college it is completely wrong.

All about nit rourkela .

Likes

campus was very good , there are facility for extra curricular activity .
campus life is very beutiful , there 1200 acre of campus full of greenery .
There is 95% chance of placement , the avarage package is 12.95 lpa , and the highest package is 52.89 lpa .

Dislikes

The one major thing is there is 85% attendance compolsory .
If your attendance is less than 85% then your one grad is less .
In summer there is high temparature in rourkela .

Placement Experience:

For 7th semister student are elogible for placement . Total 330 company visit NIT rourkela in 2023 . This resulted 1534 job offers . More than 95% of the student from btech program were placed . Apple , google , microsoft ,amazon , wipro ,deloitte , infosys companies are visited . The highest package is 52.89 LPA and the avarage package is 12.95 LPA . My plan is get into a softwere company .

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
