It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Review NITR college ka

Likes

Campus area of this college is more than sufficient
Infrastructure of this college is too good , and spaces and land given to this college not gone wasted
Exam pressure is not yet too high as expected by a student in btech college

Dislikes

It is diffivult to get selected in clubs u want , the organisor or seniors running club wants pro skilled student to get inducted
Can't learn new things by clubs as seniors want skilled inducties
There are not many things to explore beside the campus in the city where it is situated

I have interest in exploring and learning this world's things through science , BTech can full fill my desire so i opt this course Student ratio is 1:3.4 Teachers are not good as much as a student expect ,but teachers are well qualified Phd Passing exam is not a very big deal , and time between two exams is around 40 to 45 days

Likes

Campus is the the best with largest campus among all NIT
mess food is also good as shown in movies.
faculties are coperative and helpful to student.

Dislikes

attendance rule which is not less than 85%
girls and boys hostel are far they not allowed to walk together at night
disciplinary community is very strict, you need to thing before any action

Placement Experience:

* from seveth semester student get opportunity to seat in placement * companies comes to campus are amazon, AMD, apple, BEL, jsw , tata, bpcl, visa, microsoft manymore. * mostly all student are placed anyhow

my observation in college

Likes

i like greenery in campus because from greenery we can attach to the nature.
easy mathod of teaching , that easy to understand
annual fest and tech fest organize in college

Dislikes

Sports (kabaddi) ground condition is not good
In few classrooms ventilation is not good
Shops in campus is very costy . we are not able to bargain it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am intrested in machenical engineering. we can se there are 1 faculty on 50 students ration near to 0.02 . faculty qualificationn is PHD in a particular subject. teaching method is very good , they represent the subject that we can understand very easily . if we study the whole semester , acutally not difficult to pass.

Elaboration of college life with new ideas.

Likes

I like the environment of our college. It's very peaceful and we can learn Many things.

Dislikes

I don't dislike any thing but it's better to build a new hostel for girls.

Placement Experience:

There are many placements offered by our college every year. There will be internships also. There are many opportunities given to a student in our college. Highest package last year is 55lakhs per anum.

Likes

I liked the food the offered and quality of the meal.
I also liked the sports facility.The atmosphere they provide is really good.
I like the nature and sorroundings in the college.

Dislikes

I disliked the place where it is located far from the city.
the college is densely populated. which I didnot liked.

Placement Experience:

from 7th semesters students are eligible for placements and about 98 percent placement is offered with avg package of 14.11 LPA.The highest package is about 80 lakhs. I have planned to build a startup.

My first 6 months in NIT Rourkela.

Likes

Amount of fests that happens here,you will never get bored and plus it's free to join for campus students.
NIT Rourkela has best club culture in the nation.
The location and the asthectics of the college and unique and heart tendering.

Dislikes

Poor internet in the hostels and like some rooms have broken ethernet cables(mine.)
Mess food some days overall it's pretty great but now always.
Zonalism is pretty prominent so yeah can be awkward for people.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teachers are very knowledgeable and friendly and are very interactive....just how you expect a professor to be....more over they also are well received and most of our teachers are IITians and NITians and some are authors of various book....it's really great learning from them.

Review of my own college in my 1st year

Likes

Campus the most liked thing for me because of greenery it has is amazing.
Clubs culture is amazing because here we can learn many thing and you can get exposure
Library system is amazing which leads you to another dimension because you can learn and grow from such amazing books.

Dislikes

Some syllabus Pattern should change for betterment of college and students growths.
Government should provide some extra facilities for poor students.
Departments should fix a proper syllabus Pattern for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because my rank was not so good . I may get other departments but I choose it because it is not so hectic which helps me to enter into non core branch which is tech field for which I get more time. Also I can learn UI UX designing along with graphic designing.As we are 1st year we donot have enough knowledge about faculty students ratio.But the faculty are amazing as someone expect from national level colleges.Exam are quite hard. Because 8 cg is usually considered as a good cgpa

It was very to get into this clg there was lots of time to improve our skills
And we can achieve more things in the duration of our clg life by knowing new things
The professors and faculty advisor will be very humble and take care

Dislikes

There will be lots of time was wasted in the clg
And unnecessary holidays are giving int clg
Food is some what better but not as much as good

A revised of NIT Rourkela by a 1st year student.

Likes

The atmosphere is really good. It is a big campus so its peaceful around.
Faculty is very experienced. They teach really well.

Dislikes

The place outside the campus is not that great in terms of availability.
We have to maintain like 76.5 CGPA to participate in placements, which I think is not good. Skills matters nowadays.

Placement Experience:

As I'm a first year student I really don't know much about college placements. For B.tech students they can participate in internships during their third year. As for the placements it is done during their fourth year. Big tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon visit the college every year. In the academic year 2023-24 the highest package was estimated around 83LPA and the average is like around 12 to 13 LPA. As for the percentage of students l this around 8 to 9 students were placements out of 10. OK my plans...well... It still a complicated question for me.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
