It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Beauty of the campus is definitely the best thing about it.
You get a good amount of exposure through clubs and people with different mindset
No ragging or zero ragging is guranteed seniors

Dislikes

If you miss exams even for any valid reason you will get a grade back after re examination
1st years are not given as much freedom as the rest like after 12AM you cannot go our or enter as you wish
Hostel rooma are mostly double bed rooms bo single rooms

Students from circuital branches get internships from 3rd year itself and placement in the fourth year. All the major technology companies and even core companies come in college placements. Most of the students get placed in one place or another percentage is on the higher side.

Honesty about my college is my policy

Likes

Classrooms are well equipped and good for studies
Tech fest and cultural fests and were good enough to be liked
Hostels have good facilities and food is also very good but rooms were very small

Dislikes

Electrical engineering Faculties are very arrogant and don't care for students at all
There is no system and discipline in college itself, it was just savage and barbarric sort of things that I could sense from this college
College isn't interactive at all, it's like college staffs are in their world without watching what is happening in student's world

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like electrical circuits and hardware and software. According to my guess, there must be 70 students per faculty which aren't bad. Faculties are all well educated except the ones in lower branches like environment and all. Our studies and syllabus were for 6 month - 6 months time course but they ended it in 3 months - 3 months which wasn't sufficient and we got to finish the syllabus at the last minute. The exams weren't also easy depending on the method they used to teach us, the exams were very difficult. It almost felt like this college has no system or discipline in it so how come they expect us students to be disciplined.

Lavish campus of nit Rourkela

Likes

Campus is awesome with greenery along with nagapond
Campus is of 1200+ acres and need a whole of energy to visit once
Hostel facility is good very big hostels are there

Dislikes

It has a high temperature during peak hours
It's climate is uncertain it could very cold and rain along with sunshine
You have to walk very much to get into your hall

Placement Experience:

6 semester students are eligible for placement. Many companies visit like Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, etc. They make huge offers like on campus of 51+lpa and off-campus of about 2-2.4 crore. 100% of students get placements. After getting degree, I have many options to opened I will look after it.

NIT Rourkela overview

Likes

The green and peaceful campus provided .
All the facilities such as gym ,badminton courts, swimming pools etc
The club culture here is very good students get a variety of clubs.

Dislikes

The mess food sometimes get bad and are not upto the mark.
The number of seats for b.arch students is very less.

Placement Experience:

The students became eligible for campus placement from the fourth year. The highest package was 2 crores but it was off campus(here it was a person from the IDE branch). If you talk about B.Arch 50 % get placed.

NITR in a nutshell

Likes

Mess food...mine hostel food was decent enough.
No dress code made it very much friendly campus for us.
Campus life was just amazing with much liberty.

Dislikes

Hostel rooms were short and difficult to adjust.
Attendance was very strict .Like 87 percent.
Administration and management can be improved.

Placement Experience:

I am planning to get a job in core and work there for a period of time after which I have plans for doing an MBA for which I will sit for the entrances and make sure it is getting cleared otherwise I will stick to the job itself.

How is it like Being in Nit Rourkela

Likes

The thing i like the most is the greenery and the huge size or the campus.
The club culture is wery good and develops many skills among students
The curriculum is very strict and this helps students focus more on studying and which in long run helps us get placed

Dislikes

The attandance policy of 85 percent is hard to maintain and restricts us to study and explore by ourselves
The mess food in most of the mess is not very good
The rooms are very small for two people in most of the hostels

Placement Experience:

There are many opportunities for students in the college there is a placement cell that trains students to get placed and call many great companies for placements. Also, the club events build communication skills and other soft skills, and management skills which attract many companies to the campus.

Architecture in NIT Rourkela

Likes

The teaching environment, the college life and moreover the friends I have made.

Dislikes

Architecture is a hectic course so sometimes we had days when we didn't slept for the whole night.

Placement Experience:

For btech, the internships are provided from 3rd year while for BArch the internships opportunities are provided from 4th year. More or less there is 100% placement for the students who sit for the placements.

The perfect college

Likes

I like the course curriculum very much as it trains us to think out of the box
I like the college life that is always happening here and with packed schedule
I like the ineractiona nd support of faculties, seniors who constantly guide us through every doubt and help us a lot in preparing for placements.

Dislikes

The attendance policy is petty strict here with being 85 % so that can be improved a bit to 75%.
The climate of rourkela is pretty hot and during summers sometimes heat is unbearable.

Placement Experience:

Students from the 7th semester become eligible for placements (for btech) and the 9th semester (for dual degree). Various companies from almost every department like software, analytics, oil gas, semiconductor, VLSI design, machine learning, industries, core, PSUs etc visit. Some renowned names include amazon, Accenture, reliance, tata etc. Students are placed at a pretty good package the average being 10-12 lpa, the highest being 50-60 lpa and the lowest being 6-8 lpa. Almost 90-95% of students get placed and the rest go for higher studies in various reputed institutes. I have planned to take placements in the analytics domain after my degree. There is a training and placement cell which consistently trains students to check their preparations for each domain.

Likes

Campus of this college is quite big to explore.
Garden in front of each building gives peace to my mind.
It's good that they have blocked games and adult sites via LAN.

Dislikes

Hostels are not clean, always face water shortage.
Dog bite case is common in the campus. Like 1-2 case each month.
Mess food is too bad and goods are too expensive inside campus than outside.

Placement Experience:

It's a myth that all students get placed and never trust an Average package. That seems good because of some software placements. CSE, ECE, EI, and EE students are those who mostly get the opportunity to get placed in the IT sector. And the core placement is not that good.

Courses offered for computer science varied programming languages and courses both theory and practicals
opportunity and Placement - many renowned companies and 100 % placements with me getting a good job with 10 LPA
culture and campus life - I've learnt a lot about life, how to deal with situations, about different cultures, difference between good and bad.

Dislikes

Attendance - it has so much rules which at times is a problem
Leaves - not much to spend time with family

The placements at our college are absolutely the best, Our students have been consistently securing top-notch job offers from renowned companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, ADP, One plus, Samsung, Leo force, Brillio, service Now, Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, etc. The placement cell works tirelessly to connect our talented students with the best opportunities out there. The feedback from recruiters has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the skills and knowledge of our graduates. More than 100 companies visited, all were placed with many offers, highest is 40 lpa and average is 7 lpa placed in all branches. 100 % placements for all students. I also got placed with 10 LPA in a renowned company.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
