My Experience at SVNIT, Surat.

Likes

The Campus is Lush Green with plenty of trees, which gives a calm and peaceful vibes to students, also keeping the students close to Nature.
The Faculty at SVNIT is amazing, they have deep knowledge in their respective fields and help students in every way possible.
Many Fests and social events are organised in the institute to keep the students engaged and develop their overall personality.

Dislikes

The Hostels at SVNIT are not up to the mark. They need to get Renovated.
The Exams papers are made tough here at SVNIT. Students sometimes find difficult to cope up with the stuffs.
The Campus has canteen services but they are not good as compared to other NITs and IITs.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th Semester Onwards students actively participate in internships and other opportunities. Many Major Companies such as Hitachi, Larsen & Turbo, GE Vernova, TATA etc. visit the campus. The Highest package in the year 2024 is of 54 LPA which is from CSE Branch and the Average Package lies around 11-12 LPA. The Percentage of students getting placed varies from branch to branch the highest percentage of students placed are from CSE and ECE Branches.

Likes

One of the best thing in my college is that there is no weak difference in integrated MSc student and b.tech student
My college sbnt comment top 10 NIT in india
With the help of nit we get a strong aluminium at work

Dislikes

I don't like the mess food of my college because sometime it bad
There is no tuition fees remission for category student in integrated MSc course
We get hardly a 1 NSP scholarship in integrated course that is the problem

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is integrated MSC chemistry so I prefer it is the one of the good course because teachers tell everything it very equivalent to chemical engineering There is a not a big difference in chemical engineering or my course

Events in college are beautiful ,there celebrate more than 10 festival in different different hostels
Campus Life is very awesome , spread in 250 acres and very greenery
Hostel and hostel food for first year student is brilliant

Dislikes

Management of this college I don't like personally
There are very strictness about the students
Placement of msc degrees is less as compared to btech

From 3rd 4th and 5th year student are eligible for the campus internship There are many software companies are visited in this branch like Adobe , Amazon ,adani group etc There only 4 students which are get internship in 2024 Average package for this year is 11 lpa

The real side of SVNIT

Likes

The quality of food that is been provided in hostel is very much impressive. They offer a variety of foods so that any person of any region can adapt to that
A very much eco-friendly campus, a huge amout of trees in the campus
Smoking is completely prohibited inside the campus, so a smoking free campus

Dislikes

Sports ground are still not very much improved in the campus as there no specific maintained ground for cricket football etc
Some Hostels are not maintained and most of lecture halls are not air conditioned
Some of the in campus roads are not very much maintained, so little difficulties while roaming during the monsoon season

Placement Experience:

. From the 7th semester students will eligible for the campus placements . For the mechanical branch, last year average package was of 9.78 lac . There are too many companies that which every year here such as mahindra, ford, John Deere etc. For mechanical branch . Last year around 70-80% students were placed in the mechanical engineering

Truth of Integrated MSc in SVNIT

Library, with over 1 lakh books covering every aspect if the course taught in the syllabus

Dislikes

The college management is so strict and restricts students everywhere, raise your voice your penalized and they'll sue you

Placement Experience:

Department of Mathematics, also other sciences, have the worst placement than a teir 3 college. Just placing 16 students of 54 with average salary of 3.8 lakh per anum, with just 4 students as SDE and rest are Business Development Associte (Telesales - Call people to enroll into their institute). The irony is the BDA roles which offer the same salary for teir-3 BSc degree outside visit us and the CDS office soo lazy that it can't even arrange such roles for other students in the class. JOIN MSC MATHEMATICS (Physics and Chemistry too) IF YOU WANT TO PURSUE PHD, NOT FOR PLACEMENT.

Things I like it number one quality of education is very has a good academic reputation and this MSC chemistry program is structured to offer both theoretical knowledge and practical skills professor urgently knowledgeable
Friendly academy environment students of an collaborate on projects and assignments the smaller back size in MS programs faster better direct semester faculty
The campuses well required with modern laboratory celebrated and online resources the chemical engineering department in particular may provide access to special as an instruments for research

Dislikes

Upload and pressure while academic reader is appreciated subsidence may find the wildlife intense particular during exam seasons are when Jacqueline project details
Chal challenges while the infrastructure is good faculties may require upgrading or maintenance in some cases the requirement in labs may be outdated or limited which can handed the hands on experience
Is located in Surat which is smart City compared to metropolitan areas well Surat is known for its textile and diamond industries it may not offer as many cultural opportunities in certain field is like Mumbai or Delhi

Likes

The location of the campus is fantastic considering the availability of goods and services
Infrastructure is weak compared to other NITs but it suffices
Library is fantastic and well maintained

Dislikes

Infrastructure can be worked upon a lot like sports facilities
The funding for a lot of clubs is weak and can be improved
Academics are very strict when it comes to attendence

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is up to date with NEP schemes and the departments are quick to adjust and implement the said syllabus. The practicals conducted are at par with the theory. The exams are of moderate level with some subjects of high difficulty

SVNIT - FROM A PERSPECTIVE OF A FRESHER

Likes

The first thing that i like about SVNIT is its prime location
The next thing is festivals and many more events along with studies and the flexible schedule.
The diversity of people coming here. People here are from different backgrounds and cultures.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the buildings. As the Institute is very old . New buildings are coming up but still a long way to go.
The strict and early intime even after the freshers party
The genral sports infrastructure is very poor.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible in 7th semester. Adani, Larsen and Tubro, Siemens, Marvel, JP Morgan, Allen and many prominent companies visit. Highesr package - 44lpa, mechanical highest - 18.45 lpa, percentage placed in mechanical - 87.4 percent. As of now no particular plans

A Closer Look At SVNIT:Culture,Academics and Beyond

Likes

Campus Facilities include one of the best library in India with Central AC,various types of books and computer systems which are include on library.
Active cultural ,technical and sports clubs helps in developing soft skills,exploring hobbies and networking with peers.Festivals like Sparsh and Mindbend add vibrant campus life
Apart from academics sports and games are well encouraged in SVNIT,Especially Manoj Memorial NIght Cricket Tournament is being the most celebrated sports event in which all the exciting matches are played under the flood lights

Dislikes

Infrastructure .It is very old and out dated .Since the Institution was built a long ago all the walls and paintings are outdated and mangement try to restore the institue everyday
I say Hostel facilities, especially for the freshers or first years.They Rarely concerns about students in hostels.
During rainy seasons,drainage systems does not work properly as the rain water always floods on the main roada of the institutions

Placement Experience:

Placements at SVNIT are very great so far. From the 7th semester that is the first sem of final year,students are eligible to sit for campus placements.Great companies like Deloitte,Infosys are visited for CSE students and companies like Ashok Leyland are visited for Mechanical students.As far as I know , the highest package of the previous academic year was above 50Lakhs per annum and average ranges at 21 Lakhs per annum and minimum rranges at 8-9 Lakhs per annum for the CSE students.

The faculties, talking about maths department, yes my department's teachers are quite over-strict but their knowledge, way of teaching and specially there eagerness to teach exceeded my expectations,all of them are really helpful, I just love these
The campus: its the best, specially the greenery(one of the most greenest area that too between the main city), the major attraction here are peacocks everywhere around the college, you can literally see them daily which will get your mood lighten up
The peer group, the people's around me are just amazing, the restrictions somewhat are quite bad, but the friends are really crazy, they are the best, both in Masti and study as well, they are from all over the India including northeast and south too

Dislikes

The hostel, there are 8 hostels for boys and 3 for girls and 1-1 hostel are under construction for both boys and girls, the first year boys always and everyone get hostel 4 which is named gajjar bhavan, and it is the oldest and worst hostel of svnit
The hostel mess, I know it's a bit of surprise for everyone considering we are Gujarat, a state known for its delicious fooding(wangis) but the hostel mess is still the worst you can get here in svnit, they literally don't cook chapati properly never

Placement Experience:

The placements of my branch are decent approximately 6 lakhs 70 thousand per annum, which is really good considering my course msc. Mathematics assignment we will be going for research based companies

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
