Faculties are too good if you have any doubt like career related they always going to help you.
I just want to increase my communication skills that's why I am joining the various clubs like Hindi cell, cac and ncc
Infrastructure is good and construction work.As Svnit is national college soo overall it's good.is going on ..

Dislikes

Placement for MSC students are not good.Companies are coming but for core it's package is very low
They don't give fee remission for MSC students
In svnit there is no change of branch like other Nit this option is available

Course Curriculum Overview:

I just want to study in one core subject like chemistry.It is relatively easy. Exam are conducting in 2 ways one is mid sem that is after 2 month of sem start of 30 marks and another one is end sem at the end of sem that is 50 marks and 20 for internal marks like for quiz and assignment.

The learning environment and the support from the higher authorities regarding the more learning opportunities out side the college campus
The environment of the hostels and all activities of hostel management and other benefits also.
This college is in top in all aspects like learning, growth, enthusiasm, culture, knowledge, practical knowledge with technical meaning and outside environment also very calm and cool,

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course because in my secondary education i was surprised by chemistry very much. So i want to know more about the chemical and theire property and their nature. In this course we basically deals with the all chemicals, their reactions and their application in our daily life. How does the chemistry or chemical reaction affecte the our daily life conditions. And more over its teach us how can we make our life style easy by applying the principal of the chemical engineering. In improvement area of the course I can say that book part of the syllabus to be reduced and weightage of the practical part to be increased. The frequency of exam is twice in year means in every six month is there is exams and difficulty level is high if you not paid attention in your classroom study if you are paying attention in class then exams are not difficult for you

Dislikes

Strict attendance policy: SVNIT's rigid attendance requirements can be stressful for students, limiting flexibility in managing their time and potentially affecting grades even when academic performance strong.
Limited industry exposure: Some students feel SVNIT lacks sufficient industry connections, resulting in fewer internship opportunities and practical experiences compared to other top-tier institutes in India.
Outdated Curriculum: Certain departments at SVNIT are criticized for not updating their syllabi frequently enough, potentially leaving graduates less prepared for rapidly evolving technological advancements in their fields.

Placement Experience:

Students after 2nd year can apply for internships,and after 3rd year they can apply for jobs they them self and campus placements starts in 4th year only. higest package was of 52 lakh in last year form CS branch .more then 90 percent of students who apply for job gets job

The overall SVNIT EXPERIENCE

Likes

I love the lush green campus, the professors were decently good and we had a great atmosphere around
The canteen of the college is providing good and tasty meals, and I've spent a lot of my time there
Since it's in between the city there's a lot of beautiful places to visit around

Dislikes

The mess quality of food decreases linearly as the year passes, and becomes worse every time
There's not a too much of good coding culture here
Cleanliness and maintenance of some hostels are not as expected

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college were excellent until 2021, infact for CSE , they're still at their best But for the other branches, they're declining rapidly, the ECE placements are getting worse year after year, most of their people are opting for non core and thus are forgetting their own branch For my own branch CSE The highest package for year 2023 was 52 lpa, while the average package was 16.5lpa which on my opinion is pretty good Almost 84% of students got placed in cse branch this year According to me, after i get the degree, most certainly I'm expecting to get a job as well, but if I don't, i might approach to a company like JPMC , or doordash, or maybe walmart or something and then for future I'd prepare myself for top companies, I'm dreaming currently to get a job in NVIDIA

Well there are soo many things I liked about the college. I would start with the view of the college it is actually good especially the Greenery
Faculty is too good. (Except some) Senior are too good really helpful.
Anti-ragging, there are strict rules ragging. We have women empowerment cell as well in the campus.

Dislikes

Almost half of the campus is under construction. It feels like The Msc department is the construction site of civil engineering students.
During heavy rain some of the roads clogs.

The overall highest and average package offered during SVNIT Surat placements in 2024 stood at INR 52 LPA and INR 10.24 LPA, respectively. The NIT Surat CSE average package offered in 2024 stood at INR 15.86 LPA. The SVNIT recorded 65.47% placements for BTech and 59.34% placements for MTech batch 2024 Definitely SVNIT is a Tier 1 college. SVNIT computer departments have a very strong track record of placement, and many top businesses, like Airtel, Microsoft, Accenture, etc., visit for interviews. 2022 MSC mathematics highest package was 20 lakh and average is approximately 9lakh .

I liked the academic course structure of the college especially in my own chemical Engineering department.

Dislikes

In most of the hostel the infrastructure is not good. I mean it did not fulfilled my expectations.

Placement Experience:

College placement are good. Placement season starts in the starting of the fourth year . I am from chemical Engineering and in my branch the placement are good if you have a good cgpa (>7.5) then you will definitely get a good placement offer . In chemical engineering the average placement is 8.9 lack rupees.

the thing i liked most about our college is that, it is located at the middle of surat city which makes various services and faccilities easy to grab.
social life of our college is very excellent. the senior - junior interaction is best , also various technical and cultural fests and clubs gives opportunity to students to show up their skills.
faculty of our branch is highly quallified, our two proffesors are world's topmost journal publisher.

Dislikes

thing I didn't like about our college is the poor maintenance of infrastructure ,especially lift of first year boys hostel is not working , we were tired of assending 4 floors everyday for atleast 5 times in order reach in our rooms
poor and unmaintained building structure of canteen and student complex is also a thing of concern. Also there are perticular areas in our campus where garbage and waste furniture materials are dumped frequently
another thing which i didn't like is the non availability of non veg food in hostel mess

Placement Experience:

placements of our college are really excellent. highest CTC offered was 64 LPA . In our branch highest CTC offered was 18 LPA. top international and national companies comes for campus interviews like Audi, Mercedes , L&T ,Bajaj, etc. Around 70-80 % of each branch students are placed yearly, rest of them opt for higher studies or Bank exams

SVNIT an Inspiration

I like our college faculty very much as per their qualification and dedication towards teaching,i felt like our college infra should be developed
Our college conducts many programs regarding academic and extra curricular activities like dristi,and some other non technical clubs that engage students a lot
Many of our professors choose very good methods for teaching that attract students very much ,especially their interest to deliver the knowledge about subject and also knowledge related to companies

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not good at our college i think it should be developed
I don't say i disliked the food at my campus but as a south indian i was not habituated to north indian food so i feel like i don't like the food much
I think canteen surroundings are not good ,the canteen should be renovared

Placement Experience:

In our campus from 7th semisters one is eligible for campus placements..about 100+ companies visit our college.i can't name all of them but I can mention department wise highest package Cse-52L Electrical-36L Electronics-31L

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
