Likes

Scholarships are available at good scores in jee mains but there are also internal scholarships within semesters if you score good in one semester you can get scholarship financial assistance was also good
Teachers are good and they teach well and helping us to improve
The placement opportunities are good and allows big companies like amazon take students from the university.

Dislikes

The placements of this campus are very bad considering it's a government funded technical institution and the ranks for this college are high. the package should be atleast 6-7 lpa average for a cse student.
One more thing i hate here is that sports is not good here
Mess food is horrible here. the worst thing about the hostel life is mess food here.

A journey through SMVDU

Likes

Campus view is awesome. Mountains and greenery everywhere makes the air neat and clean.
Hostel rooms are good in my hostel that is New Basholi
The facilities in my branch that is ECE are very well qualified.

Dislikes

Mess food is horrible here. The worst thing about the hostel life is mess food here.
Campus placements are not satisfactory. College administration should work on placement cell.
Cleanliness in the hostel and washroom is poor.

Placement Experience:

The condition of campus placements in this college is very poor. Only about 30-50% students get placed through campus placements. And the average package of the placement is about 3 to 5 LPA. In this college students from some core branches like ECE secures good packages through off campus placements. Some students in ECE branch have got about 1Cr. Package through off campus placements. If you want to get good placement from this college then you have to get ready and prepare for off campus placements.

Ample of time to pursue your side hustle
Environment and the location of the college is beautiful.
Tourist attractions such as mata vaishno devi temple,Kashmir,patnitop,Amritsar,patiala,ladakh are very near to college

Dislikes

Mess food is usually bad and if you are non vegetarian no non veg is provided and it's not allowed to bring inside the hostel campus.
Mobility of the college is very limited.But usually a metadoor pass through the college in evenry half n hour

Course Curriculum Overview:

You get ample time beside of going to the college is best thing about the course. You can pursue or practice any of your side hustle during the time. Course is manageable even if you start studying 1 week before the examination.

My experience in smvdu

Likes

I like the environment of the university. The views and mountains and we can see Vaishno Devi from here as well which is a very nice.

Dislikes

I don’t like the food over here. The mess food especially is so bad that it’s hard to eat but we have to eat it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it about 7 because they have offered bba+mba in 5 years. Which is nice. I can do my graduation and post graduation from here only. Otherwise I would have to find another university for doing my masters. But here it becomes easy.

Nevermind, it's quiet good

Likes

The department and faculty is very supporting and helpful
The study tours gives us wide range of knowledge and understanding.
The beautiful sceneries and view of Mata Vaishno Devi bhawan leads to positivity.

Dislikes

Everything is good enough but the sanitation system of hostels mag lack behind.
As you grow, your room's condition gets degraded
Need to improve food supply chain and strictness over the mess committee

Placement Experience:

While fourth year the companies approach the campus and students for placement. For example the Tata, Mahindra, Birla groups and many more visits the campus for placement procedure as per there requirements. The average package is of 8.5lakh annually and the highese package for Mechanical could vary form 12 to 14 lakh. Near about 40% students gets placement form the Mechanical branch.

Review of SMVDU

Likes

Campus life is good. Green campus with lots of greeney whole year.
Faculty are cooperative, helps in every field.
Placement is also average students are placed according to their ability.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not that good. Needs improvement.
Main market is far away from college campus.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible in 3rd year for campus placements. Around 20 companies visited and 47 offers were made. Highest package offered 8LPA and 3.5 LPA average package. 40-50% students are placed in Civil engineering. I am planning for ESE after my civil engineering.

SMVDU is good college

Staff and teachers of this college is very good
Outer Environment of this college is awesome
Hostel infrastructure is very good livable condition

Dislikes

Mess food is sometimes average and poor in hostel depends on hostel to hostel
It is a remote location so you have to go Jammu or katra for even small work
Nearby shops are generally expensive as it is located in mountains

The Factual Representation of SMVDU

Likes

I loved the campus a lot. It has a lush green campus and peace which gives you inner relief of living here
The location of the college i.e. at the bottom of the temple provides you the spirituality in the air.
The staff of Mechanical engineering is too good for us. They support us in every thin and thick situations.

Dislikes

Inconvenience of having the market around us .
No Online services provided here(Swiggy ,Zomato ,Mcd etc).
Addition of subjects to the courses which are of no use in the future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There is only one person who has influenced a lot of students not just of our branch but of the all branches I.e. The Balbir Singh Sir ,The Dean of this college which had an impact on us. The First year courses must be improved as Biology is in no use for cs students.

This course in very iconic cause this is different from other courses. I have very passionated to this course and i have interest in building structures and design. So i choose this course and i enjoy it .

Likes

Beauty of campus, library of are university.
I like the buildings of our university, that creates a unique style.
Hostels facilities that i likes, or the grocery.

Dislikes

Mess meals that are provided, not a tasty foods.
Online zomato, swiggi not in the campus or near to the campus.
Faculty was not very much good but ok ok.

Placement Experience:

Placement is not very much good bht it's ok ok. Mostly Everyone has placed but not getting a good package but it has a average placement of 5 lakhs. Many companies like mahindra, infosis, ibm , tata etc are visited the campus also l and t.

It have a safe environment and full of supportive teachers ; full of greenery
It has many new opportunities for new students ;like nss and ncc
Hostel life is amazing ; and lots of caring caretakers

Dislikes

Infrastructure ; is tooo old and it need repairing
All smart classes are not smart anymore and need repair

In MBA students are eligible for placement in 3rd semester . HDFC , ICICI Bajaj finance and many more companies visited for placement and many students get placed in their 3rd semester. Highest package is around 12 lakhs per annum More then 90% students get placed Getting placed form campus.
