IIT Dhanbad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

after my intermidiate i appeared for the jee entrance examination in which is common entrance for iits and i secured an obc rank of 2649.by the jossa seat allocation authority i was alloted the course bachelor of technology in petroleum engineering.after it i went theough a physical registration process which held in the campus itself.

I GOT THE ADMISSION IN INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY -DHANBAD THROUGH THE JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION. THEN THERE WAS A COUNCELLING BY JOSSA WHICH ALLOTED ME THE COURSE BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN PETROLEUM ENGINEERING.OUR INSTITUTE IS GOOD OF EARTH SCIENCE RELATED BRANCHES SUCH AS MINERAL ENGINEERING MINING ENGINEERING MINING MACHENERY ENGINEERING BUT I HAD INTREST IN THIS COURSE WHICH IM CURRENTLY PURSUING.AFTER JOSSA COUNCELLING THERE WAS A PHYSICAL REGISTRATION PROCESS IN THE INSTITUTE IN WHICH I HAD SUBMITTED NECESSRAY DOCUMENTS.

Internships are very low. But most of the internships provide PPO's. Placement cell does absolutely good but the priorities and chances are given who has more contacts but not to the knowledge sometimes.

Positive: Lush greenery cleanest campus. Awesome placements. Very strong Senior-Junior relationship. Negativity: No air connectivity in Dhanbad. One have to ride 3 hours to reach nearest airport. Some professor's are not world class.

My college is very good in terms of campus infrastructure and placements but lacks decent professors and director for that matter. If I could change one thing about the college, that would be the professors.

Institute conduct a test for admission. That was called ISMEE i.e Indian school of mines entrance exam. my college become IIT in December 2016. So from 2019 till now the people with valid JAM score card can apply for M.Sc & M.Sc-tech courses.

Overall the college is really great. If you are willing to step out of your room and explore life, then this college is the best place for you. The gender ratio should be improved. And students should be given more freedom in choosing their subjects.

This is not very good or wow at its first site as it holds an IIT tag. But gradually you will fall in love with it. The central library is the main charm of ISM. As a city Dhanbad is not very much developed and there are very few places to enjoy.

Those who are good are talking can get a way to live like a king.

There are both positive and negative remarks on college. positive: the infrastructure being old college is quite good. being an IIT the academics are also good. the alumni network Is very strong. the culture and relationship among the students is unique. the placements are growing rapidly. Negative: it is so called IIT but I believe it didn't get the complete IIT status both from the government and public. it is not completely being noticed as IIT. the location of the college is also a drawback. it is not situated in some good city unlike that if other iits. this restricts its development.
