All about NITjsr

Likes

Hostel life was good, we have many facilities.
Placements are quite okay with many diversified companies.
We have a good academic building having well AC rooms.

Dislikes

Library is not opened on sundays which basically restrict students.
Academic culture is quite strict nowadays.
Open campus creates an unsafe environment.

Placement Experience:

We have a good pool of companies in the IT domain. Specifically talking about civil engineering we have many companies in both non-core and core sectors. We have bad internship opportunities in 3rd year specifically talking about the civil engineering branch.

College Life at NIT Jamshedpur.

Likes

College infrastructure is so much good and campus is totally lush green.
Placement is awesome and every student get placed .
Faculty members are really supportive and highly skilled.

Dislikes

College campus is open so there is lot of restrictions.
Student council here is selected body thus there is no transperency
Library is not 24*7 open , it opens for 9 to 8 in a day.

Placement Experience:

Students are elegible to sit in placements at 7th seemster . Google, Atlassian , Microsoft , Amazon , Flipkart and various other prominent companies of various sectors , highest package was 80 lpa and 99 percent students get placed.

Likes

I like the campus life at nit jamshedpur because it is residential campus
We have a wide variety of course in engineering
Infrastructure is also too much good ..we have new academic building of 130 crore

Dislikes

It is open campus we do have a lot of restrictions in movement at night
Our library open only for 9am to 8 pm only

Placement Experience:

Students from the 7th sem are eligible for placement. Around 180 companies visited our campus including Amazon, Flipkart, Atlassian, and Reliance. The highest package is given by Atlassian which is 80lpa around 99 Percent of students got placed

Descent college

Likes

Hostel and night canteen which provide daily needs .
The academic building and the virtual classrooms .
The laboratory and equipments which is enough for civil engineering.

Dislikes

Attendance criteria which is 75 percent and above .

Placement Experience:

The companies start to come after the end of the sixth semester. The highest package this year is grabbed by computer science students in the company called Atlassian with a ctc of 83lpa. There are many companies which visit our college such as Deloitte, Lnt, Exxon Mobile, o9 solutions and so on.

Review of NIT JAMSHEDPUR

Likes

I liked about this college is its hostel and mess and also the academic
The classes are too big which can accomodate almost 300 peoples
The room is quite spacious and there is a cricket playground

Dislikes

For core branches classes are very high as compared to the no core branches

Placement Experience:

Students from 3rd year get 2 months Internship and from 4th year they are eligible to seat for placement in different roles. Different companies with different profiles visited this college like Google Amazon LinkedIn etc.

An Overall View of NIT JAMSHEDPUR

Likes

The classrooms are fully provided with all the necessary amenities
The campus has stores inside it where the students can buy their daily necessary items which are required in the hostel.
The library is very good place for studying and it contains all types of books required by the student

Dislikes

The mess food should be improved so that student can like it
the equipments in labs should be renewed so that students can use them at any time

Placement Experience:

The placements stats are very good in the college. The overall placement percentage of all the courses is about 97 per cent and higher this year. In the sixth semester, the students become eligible for internships and also for placements. The name of the companies that came this year were Amazon, Adobe, Bajaj, BYjus, OLA, Samsung, Qualcomm, Tata Steel, JIO etc. The number of offers made this year was 750+ and about 250+ companies visited. The highest package this year was 83 lpa and the average package is 16 lpa. The percentage of students placed was 100 per cent in 4 branches and about 97 per cent in the rest branches. My plan is to first get a good job with a good package.

The best part of this college is its placement. Placement scenario is too good here
Senior bonding and sports facilities are good.

Dislikes

Mess food quality, some professor's rude behaviour and their teaching quality.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in their 7th semester and almost all get placed, the overall placement percentage is over 97%. Those who are not placed either opt for higher education or go for off-campus placement. Our overall average package is 15+ lpa and the highest package is around 80lpa. The ECM branch is introduced in 2022, so no batch is passed yet.

NIT JAMSHEDPUR as an Opportunity

Likes

There are many things to be liked about the college like the supportive nature of the faculties, the staff members, etc.
The fests held in the campus were good enough and too much enthusiastic.
The placement stats of the college is far better than expected.

Dislikes

The college does not has an open football ground.
The meals provided in the mess have a great scope of improvement.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement when they pass the third year of the course. There are many companies visiting the campus naming them all is not possible but some of them are Adobe, Google, etc. Overall offers made are sufficient enough for the placement of a maximum number of students. The highest package of the college is about seventy lakhs and that of my branch is about twenty lakhs. The average package of the college and my branch are about eleven lakhs and eight lakhs respectively. Almost all students are placed through college placements. My plan after the degree is to get into a well-paid job.

I really like the enviromengt of our clubs, it helps us grow
Our college provides good placements for all branchs
Our faculty are very knowledgeable about their subject

Dislikes

The fact that it is an open NIT is really uncomfartable as there is traffic
The administrative work is slow. to ge any document signed you will have to run a lot

My experience in nit jamshedpur is just great. I learnt my thing apart from study like how to know the society, how to behave, grow in physical as well as mental health

Dislikes

I don't like the entry of outsider's in the campus.

The Training & Placement Cell, NIT Jamshedpur, facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the institute, besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up internship and training programs for students. The Training & Placement Cell provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests, and interviews, besides catering to other logistics.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.

Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.

Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.

Academics

The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.

Extracurricular Activities:

The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
