LIFE IN NIT JAMSHEDPUR

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because this was the branch I was getting through my JEE score. Faculty student ratio is 3:100. All the professors here are highly qualified and had phd from top colleges of the worl. There research has been published by many publications ,many of them had written books and got published . there researchs are famous world wide . The teaching method of professor is very good they explain the topics upto which it is necessary to be known. Exams here are held timely ,2 semesters per year and the level of question paper is moderate.

Insides of NIT JAMSHEDPUR

Placement Experience:

7th-semester students are eligible for placement and from 5th-semester students are eligible for internship. Big names for campus placement are Amazon, Goldman sac, etc. The highest package for this year(2017-2020 )is 30 lacs for CSE. and for the year (2016-2019) it is 70lacs from Mechanical. 95 % get placed from CSE and ECE and 85% from EE, 70-80 FROM other branches. My plan is to get an IT job.

Placement Experience:

In our branch, according to the previous year's data, among 100 students almost 95 students of them get placed which is a decent thing. The highest package goes up to 40 lakhs per annum and the average is about 8-10 lakhs per annum.

My college experience

Placement Experience:

The placement of NIT JSR is quite good. Its placement percentage is 90% or above. Many companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Tata, axis bank, Bajaj auto, Nokia, sabre, accolade, Infosys, TCS, IBM, Wipro, Oracle visit our campus for placement. The number of companies that participated in placement is 150 or above and the number of offers made is more than 400. The highest package of our college (this year 2021) is 37.5 LPA. And the average CTC is 15.5 LPA. Top recruiters are Amazon, Deloitte and Tata power. According to the 2021 placement record, 90% and above student of the Cse and ECE branch are placed in good companies. Placement of branches like Civil, MME is also good in our college because of its location. The highest package of our college (till now) is 39 LPA (2016 batch). Our college is improving in every field especially in placement, NIT JSR has a good record.

From 2nd year (3rd sem) onwards students are eligible to get internships and from 4th (7th sem) year students started getting placements. Placements and internship opportunities are very good at NIT Jsr special in CSE and ECE branch. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, TCS, Accenture, Samsung, Tata Steel and various other companies visited here.

OVERALL A GOOD COLLEGE TO START UR JOURNEY!

Placement Experience:

Eligibility: After 2nd year you can apply for internships. The final placements start from starting of the 4th year and some students also get PPO. Placements: Placements are actually good here. Tata is nearby to our college so it recruits core as well as non-core engineers in bulk. Packages offered: This year the highest placement is 30lpa offered by Amazon and the placement process is still going on. Percentage: About 80% are well placed at different companies like One plus, Goldman sachs.The average package was 7lpa last year for all branches. My plans: I want to get a decent job at any tech giant company and if possible will move towards higher studies.If u want to crack GATE then here u will get the group to study in a planned manner and ultimately crack it with ease.

Placement Experience:

In most branches, students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th-6th semester. More than 100 companies visit every year with big names like Microsoft, Amazon, BPCL, HPCL, Tata Steel, etc. The number of offers to vary company by company year by year and branch by branch. Vedanta once offered 20+ and the very next year it offered just 3-4. The domestic highest package goes to the CSE branch of about 27 LPA by Amazon. The average package revolves around 8 LPA. Around 90% of students get placed but that varies branch by branch, say in the CSE branch it's 100% and some students even get multiple offers but in the CE branch it's about 40-50%. I am looking to go for MBA.

Placement Experience:

The placement records are just amazing. In these Covid times about 90% eligible students get placed and still placement season in going on. Various companies like Amazon ,Samsung ,Infosys ,wipro, Tata steel ,deloitte ,axis bank, IBM, oracle etc. Visit the college for college placement. Average package of cse is 12-14 lakhs ,for ece 10-12 lakhs and for core branches 7-10 lakhs which is quite good. My plan after getting the degree is to grab a decent package and get settled.

NIT Jamshedpur, the pride of the steel city.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement starts from the 4th year or the 7th semester itself. The Placements of the college is decent for both non-core and core. For non-core, the top recruiters include Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Paytm, Samsung, One Plus, and a lot more. For core, the top recruiters include Tata Steel, Bajaj, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Vedanta, and a lot more. In total, the no. of companies who visited the college in the year 2021 was around 85 and the no. of offers made was above 400 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The highest placement was INR 30 Lakhs given to 10 students and the average was around INR 12 Lakhs. The percentage of students placed was somewhere around 83%. If no campus placement is offered, which is a very unlikely case, you can either go for higher studies like M.Tech, MBA or exams like GATE, IES, CAT, etc. for higher studies and government jobs. You can even make use of your NITian tag to open a coaching institute of yours.

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.

Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.

Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.

Academics

The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.
