Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

Placements were good for all core and non-core companies. In CSE good packages have come to college students. For core companies like civil companies, the packages were average to moderate. Can do PhD after MTech

A Trial Track before Starting journey into NITC...

Likes

I Liked the infrastructure, hostel facilities,campus overview and classroom structures and faculty guidance.
Campus life is good as many sports opportunities being provided in the college.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

I disliked the language because students were mostly speaking in the Malayalam.
I disliked the travel opportunities from my home town to college.
As we have only one train to reach the hometown which is troublemaker for us to travel

Placement Experience:

As the college changed its course plan students become eligible after completing the second year course that is 4th semester to the campus placements. Companies visited like Microsoft ,Google, Infosys ,Tata, cognizant, ongc and many more . Around 90% students get placed in the campus interviews and the rest students go for higher studies. I wanted to go to software field after completing my graduation.

The environment here is nice and kerela is better than ever
The exposure and student activity is evidents and many clubs are present to develop many skills in students
Fests are a big chance for someone to develop and enjoy the most

Dislikes

In recent times the management is trying to supress the student body and acting less supportive
Youll have to walk a lot here and there to completw daily activities

Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester when companies start visiting the campus, the placement cell is very strict and active about the processes and policies but one has to prepare and be ready for getting placed.

Provides Good placement After Graduation
Completely student handling all the events which enhances the students ability to handle the things well

Lacking in providing insufficient funds in the field of sports
Discrimination between Home state and other states people

Placement Experience:

Our NIT Calicut follows strict rules in terms of placements. They completely abide by the rules to attract many companies to the campus. The students are supposed to sit for the placements in their 7th semester. Before they calculate the GPA of all six semesters they take as the basis for considering it as eligibility. Students with a GPA of 7+ will be eligible to apply for almost all the companies. Below that won't be able to apply for some of the companies. Last year the count of companies was 192 and the offers were made about 1300+. The highest package was 67 lpa from the department of CSE. The overall average package was 12 lpa. The overall percentage of students placed was 90%. My plan was after getting my degree, I was thinking of doing an MBA in good IIM after having sufficient work experience.

I like sports team because they are supporti many of the intreseted students

The main thing i don't like is least van facilities.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year of college students get eligible for ppo's. If you get PPO then you will get a job in that company. Nearly 200 companies visit our campus The highest package offered is 57 lakh and the average is 10 lakh

About availability of some useful items bd its far from city.

We have good campus placements in our college. but many members want to study mtech by writing GATE exam and some want to do MS in abroad some want to have an internship and the highest package is in cse of almost 600000 per year.

My College Experience

Likes

Beautiful campus lots of greenery (like in trees)
lots of chances to grow like clubs, events , lectures they keep on happening
Idk teaching can be better but if you carefully pay attention in class you can learn

Dislikes

Distance between hostel and campus where class happens is too much for 2nd and 3rd years.
administration messes with students a lot just paid fine of 1000 rupees for things i did not even touch

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are there if you cross the minimum CGPA mark. We have lots of big companies with the highest package being 50 laks(yeah CS) and 4 lakhs per annum idk which branch so the average is somewhere 14 lakhs p/a. Caterpillar, Infosys, Tata, Bajaj, Axis Bank many more you can go to nitc website for this there is a detailed report there. just check the website. My plan is probably MTech I don't know I am not studying enough for gata let see what happens.

Our curriculum consists of 8 semesters and we will have our autonomous policy in the college. For every semester we will have one midterm exam followed by end semester examination.. Through this process we will complete our graduation

I like the technical clubs in our college which are helpful for our placements
I like the fests in our college in which we have the best experience ever with our friends
I like the greenary of our college As we live in kerala its god’s own country

I dislike the timings of bus in iur college
Sometimes I dislike the mess food in our college
Also we dont have hot water supply sometimes when it is cold outside we face some difficulties

I choose this course because I like machines faculty is very free with students and are much co operative than in any other college As it is a government college we get all the facilities Exams are not at all tough to pass but to get a good score we have to work hard

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
