Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 5th semester itself and the placements have been really good lately and I think even though there's software recession and stuff we will still be able to get placed in a good company if we perform well and maintain a good cg with good technical or core skills that are offered by your course

I don't have a complete idea about placements. Placements in our cse department are high as th Institute has 100% placements in 2022 and about 98% in 2023. Average package in cae department is around 20 lakhs

A brief on National Institute of Technology Calicut

Extra curriculars : It has been just first sem and we already had inductions for most of the clubs and sports team. We are also allowed to conduct our own competitions or small performances if we want to.
Class hours : Only 3 hours (Max 4) of classes. Focussing on more self learning than lectures provides students ample time to learn as well as for other things.
Peer group : Excellent peer groups as everyone here is passionate towards something or the other and you can also reach out to seniors with similar interest as they'll help you.

Dislikes

Lack of transparency: The management is not much transparent about the decisions taken and abruptly changes policies without the opinion of students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Computer science as it has always been in my best interests and it is one of the most growing engineering sector. The student ratio in computer science branch at NITC is the best among all branches as there are around 45 Faculties for 204 students as of 2023. All the faculty are PhD holders from tier 1 colleges with atleast 10 YoE in teaching. The teaching method is intuitive as they include real life scenarios to facilitate imaginative learning. Although some courses which required extensive math input are not taught well. Talking about the exams, passing them is definitely not cakes walk as all courses are relatively and continuously graded and you'll have to put in constant effort to stay ahead of your peers. All exams are conducted timely and adhere to the excellence of the institute.

There is a good placement opportunities in the campus. Qualcomm visited last year for placements . In EEE about 96 percent placement are there.i will probably go for placements after the course.higheat package is 50 lakhs .also cgpa doesn't account to much for placements

I liked the campus and the extra curricular activities faculties are also top notch

I disliked the infrastructure the. Campus is vast but not properly coordinated

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's a new course and a great opportunity get a degree from a prestigious institute like NIT and become a new generation teacher with new policy. We are 37 students with 6 faculties all are PhD degree and their teaching methods are very good like they should because of NIT. The term exam was 3hours and it was a average exam.

NITC in a nutshell

Likes

flora and fauna of the campus. Old architecture
amazing professors highly qualified in their respective domain.
college culture and activities especially sports

80 percent attendance criteria if you even a percent below you will face a lot of difficulties
campus have a very poorly maintained internet network.
they dont have canteens inside the campus

from third year student are eligible for college placements and ppos. i am writing the review being in first year so dont really have a good idea about he placements and internships offered in this college

Here th mode of teaching is very highly Contributed.
Overall the faculty is well experienced and the students are very genius

Dislikes

The mode of toughness of giving and conducting the exams.
In the nit calicut kerala it is always used to rain .
It is very tough to pass in the national institute of technology calicut

From the third year onwards the students become eligible for the campus placements.There are so many companies visited that is Intel,Samsung.The percentage of students getting placed in mechanical engineering is 100.After getting the degree I would opt for higher studies.

Beautiful environment provided by the campus.
Cultural fest's conducted by the college is very joyful.

Dislikes

Our campus is near high way so full of traffic sounds and disturbance.
There is very tough correction in our college and questions are difficult to attempt.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester students are eligible for campus placements.There are many companies visiting our college for campus placements.The companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Mahindra,Tata industries etc.89 percentage of students are successfully got campus placement.Average package is 15LPA and highest is 47LPA.

Beauty of nitc

Likes

Classrooms are very clean . Cricket ground is very nice
Library is so big. Many book are available there .
Rajpath which the starting path after entering into the college .

Dislikes

So many crows are their sound will be so disturbong.
Health centre is very far from the hostels .
Cricket is also very far from the college

Placement Experience:

Placements in nit Calicut are very nice. We will be having many opportunities. Many big companies like Google Amazon will also come to nitc. Many students opt for high studies too. My plan is to get into civil services after graduating from this college

Life at NITC

Likes

Nature is one of the things, I liked the most. The opportunities for the Interested candidates are very high and can improve their skills all aspects
The events were extraordinary.. every festival is celebrated with good vibes
I enjoyed the sports, Gym and study environment in the college.

Dislikes

Ragging was a major problem. Which I feel bad
The exam paper is very tough and cannot get high score ( above 9 SGPA)
Home works are not given to students, so when they go to hostel they just avoiding study and wasting the time.

Placement Experience:

As far as I know, the placements in NITC is good.. they provide 100% placements for eligible candidates. For the 8 sem the students start to place. The highest package was 63.5lakhs per annum and average was 23.5 lakhs per annum in CSE. I trying to get placed in campus itself

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
